How Long Does It Take Insurance Companies To Settle A Minor Auto Accident Claim? |
Jan 26, 2007 by luker | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I was in a fender bender halloween vespers all the time. The accident was "allegedly" my fault. The cops showed up got our info and we both reported to our assurance. I track my claim online and it says the case is closed but I have not recieved any info on if I have to pay or if I do not. It has been closed for over a month.
I am more troubled about my deductible, not about paying directly for the other car.
You must be insured with Geico....sounds too relaxed.
Has your insurance company provided you with an estimate of your damages? If so, it will show you what they are paying or not paying. Chances are if you are damages are over your deductible you're paying your deductible. If the damages are under your deductible...you're paying for the repairs yourself.
This means....you received the info on if you have to pay your deductible or not. The deductible applies duration,. One more thing...your deductible only applies to YOUR car, not the other person.
If they haven't given you an judgement, why haven't you had it inspected?

How Much Should We Ask The Insurance Company For When Settling A Car Accident Claim? |
Jan 08, 2008 by kmmorgan26 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My boyfriend was recently in an accident. His chiropractor told him that when settling his claim, he should ask for three times the amount of all his total expenses. My aunt was also told the same fetish by her doctor. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was a law or something?
No, it a worn out urban legend, but like all urban legends, not true.
If you are even going to ask for anything over and above your expenses as a effect of your accident, don't use a chiropractor as your medical "expert" because to insurance companies, they are in the same elegance as witch doctors. Get a medical doctor to give you a prognosis and diagnosis.
Realize each accommodation is figured out on its own merit, there is no formula. Your best source of information as to what would be considered just would be your own agent. Ask him.

How Objective Are Auto Insurers In An Accident Claim? |
Aug 17, 2007 by Jason C | Posted in Insurance & Registration
In an accident claim where imperfection is essentially a he said/she said case and fault is somewhat ambiguous, do auto insurers be liable to side witht heir customers or is it a completely objective determination?
Hiya:
Hitch is based on facts. Or - the facts as the adjuster knows them.
The insurance company will demeanour an investigation: take statements from everyone involved, try to get witness statements, examine the vehicles, vet the scene.....
I can tell you that people almost ALWAYS deny liability. It's like they are programmed that way or something! lol
As infamously coined by CSI - the data doesn't lie.
When looking at impact points on a vehicle, we can tell things like swiftness, direction of impact. There are crush zones in the hood, doors, frame....vanquish zones serve 2 purposes - absorb and transfer energy. You've heard that physics law: An phenomenon in motion stays in motion? It's easy to follow the evidence.
People sometimes don't even certain what they are saying is giving them away and proving them a liar. When someone gets hit from behind, claims that they were stopped and that their steer hit the windshield. Big Fat Lie. If you were hit from behind...while you were stopped....your head would go backwards. Not forwards. If you were MOVING on the other jointly.....different picture. And speed makes a difference.
So - bottom line..valid because you have a he said/she said situation - that doesn't mean that it will stay a he said/she said siutation. If all else fails and there is still some double-speak - depending on the negligence jurisdiction you live in - you could both end up sharing some percentage of liablity - or end up having to pay your own damages or....
You get the idea, right?
Goodluck!

Accident Claims. What Companies Will Actually Let You Make A Claim Where NO Injury Is Involved? |
Aug 26, 2007 by crazeetaxi | Posted in Law & Ethics
'All' that happened to me is my car (3rd fete insurance only) was damaged in an accident that was not my fault.
The other drivers insurance company is denying my claim, basically because they undeniable just don't want to pay me anything. How can little me fight the mighty power of one of the UK's biggest car guarantee companies? I can't of course. And it's not cost effective to hire a solicitor.
As I wasn't injured in the accident (and am not interested in pretending I was) is there are troop who will take me on with one of these 'no win no fee/100% compensation' deals with no injury involved? I just want to win what is rightfully mine, the damages to my car.
So regretful but I don't know of any claims company which do as you ask. Many years ago I was witness to a similar accident where the persons car was only insured 3rd dinner party. Months later I was asked to make out a witness statement which I hope sorted out the ungovernable. During this period I was talking to the police about the problem and they advised that anyone who is involved in an accident which is definitively NOT their to blame, should make sure they are 'injured' so that the police must be called to the scene All details then have to be recorded so the other social gathering and insurance company can't wriggle out of it.

What Exactly Is An Accident Claim? |
Sep 02, 2009 by C McC | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I'm critique an article about accidents for my school newspaper and I want a clear definition of what an accident claim is to constitute my point clear to readers.
Help?
If you have an accident, and you have assurance, you call your insurance company and they have a guy who interviews you and decides what you are entitled to. You have a 'claim', which is a legal word intention that someone owes you something and you have the right to ask them for it. You are 'filing a claim'.
If the accident wasn't your fault, you go to the person whose fault it was and you unburden him how much you think he should give you for your damages, plus your inconvenience, for 'pain and suffering', etc. If he has insurance, you toil with his insurance company, and they make you an offer. If he doesn't have insurance, you mail him a the classics telling him how much you want, and the sum is usually negotiated. You might have to sue him. You have a 'legal claim'.

Is There A Deadline To File An Automobile Accident Claim? |
Apr 09, 2007 by cltf | Posted in Insurance & Registration
my daughter was tortuous in an accident in which she was hit from behind. The other driver was at fault and admitted it and a police report was filed. Since the accident was minor she never pursued a claim. Is there a at all times limit for filing a claim? It has been about 6 months since that happened. I would like for her to get the car repaired.
Not to surrejoinder your question, with a question....but why did you wait so long??...Also, IMMEDIATELY in YOUR insurance company, and ask them, about any statutes, of limitation, for claims, regarding your OWN, coverable warranty.
Your insurance company, itself, may have a deadline, to file a claim, but you should be o.k., as far as sueing the offending party, for damages....
Many surety companies, give policyholders, a LIMITED amount of time, to file a claim....because...a fender-bender, 6 months ago, is onerous to determine, if the car has been hit, or damaged, since then...they don't want to pay any more, than they have to.....I don't blame them, but you should report ANY accident/fender-bender, Directly....along with any police report.

Whats The Procedeur For An Accident Claim? |
Jul 26, 2008 by STEVEN M | Posted in Insurance & Registration
i knocked my elbow at trade on a scaffold peg that wasnt coverd (6 mnth ago) and now every time i knock it it In point of fact hurts.
i just filled in a accident claim form and it said i could be awarded up to £6000 but whats the procedeur? will i penury to go for tests etc lawyers/courts?
i didnt log the accident in the accident book at the time as i regarded it very minor will that consequence anything?
If you did not communiqu this to your supervisor or log it in the accident book, then you will have a very difficult time proving this alleged injury is drudgery related. The purpose of workers comp is to compensate an injured person for medical expenses, wasted wages and rehab if needed. It is not intended as a source of monetary compensation unless you have a permanency, scarring, squandering of function etc. You need to seek medical attention to begin with, and the doctor has to causally sympathize the injury to the incident. Doubt he/she will do that since six months have gone by.

For example an accident occurs between two parties, the accident claim is filed on the other parties insurance, how much time does the auto indemnity adjuster has to make a final decision to approve or deny the claim? (For example 30 days? 6 months to a year?)

If There Was An Accident Claim Against Me 5 Years Ago Can I Go Back To The Same Company Now? |
Sep 04, 2007 by Destiny | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I was insured through Imperial Farm over 5 years ago and someone filed a claim against me for an accident (which btw was not my fault). I was young and foolish and cancelled my behaviour, and never heard back from the person or State Farm.
If I wanted to get a quote from them now, would that old claim that was never fulfilled still be in the system? Would they "retain" me and deny me, or worse, attempt to come after me for the $$??
I'm unflinching you're fine. You cancelling the policy after the claim doesn't keep them from paying out.. if you were insured when the accident happened, they're still successful to pay out. And if anything happened to keep them from paying out? Oh yeah, you would have known by now. There would have been lawsuits and warrants or.. who knows, lots of acting.
Insurance companies generally only keep your accident info on file for five years (if even that long), so you should be well-founded fine! If you're really worried, though.. just go to a different agent. I doubt you're prosperous to have a single problem, though!
