How Do I Know How Much To Ask For In An Auto Accident Claim Where The Other Person Admits Total Responsibility |
Question by jworks_247 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I got in an auto accident where a human being was cited with failure to yield. The car I was driving was totaled. I have and will continue to have medical expenses. No primary injuries, sore neck, back and headaches. How much is standard to receive in a claim such as this... beyond the replacement of a totaled means?
Answer: they will owe for the value of your car pre-accident. they will also owe for rental if your car is undrivable until they coin an offer on your auto;
as for your injuries; you have what they call soft tissue injuries;
they will make an offer on your injuries when you are done treating; at that convenience life, they will make a offer which will include your medical bills and "some" hurt/suffering;
as for an attorney, no matter how "good' they say they are; i have made offers on injuries that were rejected, they afterwards got an attorney and after we settled and the attorney took his 33%, i calculated the person received less than what i had initially offered prior to retaining an attorney;
with the type of injuries you noted=mild tissue, also known as "whiplash", this is not permanent and "generally speaking" does not carry a lot of value; i know you don't want to hear that; i would not go shopping or dissipate "anticipated" settlement money until they make an offer. |

How Long Does It Take Insurance Companies To Settle A Minor Auto Accident Claim? |
Question by luker | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I was in a fender bender halloween ceaselessly. The accident was "allegedly" my fault. The cops showed up got our info and we both reported to our security. I track my claim online and it says the case is closed but I have not recieved any info on if I have to pay or if I do not. It has been closed for over a month.
I am more on edge about my deductible, not about paying directly for the other car.
Answer: You must be insured with Geico....sounds too easy.
Has your insurance company provided you with an estimate of your damages? If so, it will show you what they are paying or not paying. Chances are if you are damages are over your deductible you're paying your deductible. If the damages are under your deductible...you're paying for the repairs yourself.
This means....you received the info on if you have to pay your deductible or not. The deductible applies space,. One more thing...your deductible only applies to YOUR car, not the other person.
If they haven't given you an viewpoint, why haven't you had it inspected? |

What Happens After The Demand Letter Has Been Sent Regarding An Auto Accident Claim? |
Question by Gary S | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Does anyone understand the time frame that these things take? All I know is my lawyer sent State Lease a demand letter on April 9, about the accident that took place early last year. Do they large take awhile to respond? Does state farm them give my lawyer a number, or is this for something else?
Any advise would be appreciated. Lawyer of course does not tell me anything.
Answer: If the needed included all of the needed documentation, then the adjuster will evaluate your claim as soon as he/she can. Adjusters miss to resolve claims and get them off of their assignment as soon as possible.
Some states have mandatory opportunity frames that require the insurance company to respond to the demand. If they do not they can be penalized/fined. Often the requisition will included a set date in which the attorney expects an offer to be made.
If your attorney did not include all the needed info, then the adjuster will either beseech the info from your attorney, or they may use a medical authorization to secure the documents from your providers.
It does not take a want time to evaluate a claim, but you do need to know that adjusters carry case loads anywhere from 150-200 claims(where I vocation they do). |

Auto Accident Claim Process When Accident Was Not Your Fault? |
Question by USMC Wifey Nicole TTC #2 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My hubby was in an accident a span of days ago. His car is mangled and he is suffering from back pain. After accident he went to the ER to be checked and was fine as far as they could see. He wants to rank through the driver at fault's insurance so not to raise our price. The police did not let him get his insurance info so we are waiting for the account. What happens now?? What do we do?? Will they offer a settlement and how soon??
| Answer: Depending on the hold in which you reside, you can go to the police substation and pick up the report (some states you have to go pick it up). The office-bearer should have given him a case or incident report number. Good you have a medical chronicle, bad it says he was fine. Did the other driver get ticketed at fault for the accident. Some states are 'no fault', so regardless who is to disapproval, both file with their own insurance. Then, the insurance companies hash it out between themselves. Sounds like you have at guilty criticize. Call your insurance company to get involved in the process. They are going to handle the case anyway, but you should stop on top of what transpires. In some instances, neither insurance company will accept fault and the case can go to probationary. Your husband will be called to testify and if the court determines the other driver is at fault, your pacify could be awarded a settlement and/or payment for damages to his car. Like I said, I don't know where you spend, so go online to the DMV (be careful, there is a non-governmental website listed as 'DMV.org') in your state. You should be able to find exact information on auto accidents, insurance issues, etc. there. |

What Is The Time Limit For Making An Auto Accident Claim To Geico? |
Question by Powderpuff | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I'm in the submit of Louisiana. There was no police report.
Answer: Depends, is GEICO your haulier or the other persons?
If GEICO is your carrier, it's pointed out in your policy which is probably as soon as reasonable. The only legal time limit is the Statute of Limitations for contracts in your state (all things considered not less then 2 years). BUT, a delay can cause problems.
If its the other person's policy, again, the same items focus but the Statute of Limtations time frame would would be different.
In both cases, you still want to indulge the report as soon as possible. Delays can _only_ cause problems. |

Who Pays For Car Insurance In An Auto Accident Claim? |
Question by thirty220 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
If i'm create-ended in an auto accident, the other driver is at fault and their insurance covers my rental. are there any limitations as to what the assurance covers? will i be responsible for the damage waiver and so forth?
i was actually asking who pays for the guaranty on the rental car.
i'm not young. the other driver was proven to be at fault.
| Answer: The mortal physically who pays for insurance on the rental car is the person who is renting the car. If you are in a rental due to an accident, the insurance South African private limited company is only required to provide you with alternative transportation while your car is being repaired. They have no legal requirement to pay for protection because you elected not to purchase comp/collision or liability insurance for yourself OR if it's a situation where your own cover policy doesn't transfer to a rental. |
