I was in an fluke about 1 day ago, both cars took minor paint damage. I don't want to report anything, but we swapped info. How crave does the other person have to report a claim? I have allstate.
They SHOULD report it right away. I reported an accident almost a week after it happened, although I didn't pursue it since I buffed the coat off.

Do I Have To Claim/report Money Donated To Me And Money Given To Me By Victim Of Voilent Crime? |
Mar 21, 2007 by scott k | Posted in United States
I stress to know this for my taxes. Wisconsin told my mom that it was tax free....sooo, i call for to know definatley.
If you were the martyr of a violent crime, any settlement you received for your physical injuries is not taxable. Whether this was paid by the perpetrator or a structure crime victims compensation fund doesn't matter.
If you were the perpetrator and compensated your schnook, you do not get a tax deduction for the payments you made.

Does Anyone Know If I Should Report Claim Checks That I Received From AFLAC As Taxable Income On My Tax Return |
Apr 11, 2007 by ESBLA | Posted in United States
I currently have a offhand term disability policy with AFLAC and my monthly premiums are automatically drafted from my bank account. I have had this plot for at least five years and have never deducted any of my premiums on my tax returns. Therefore, I am wondering if I need to report claim checks that I received in 2006 (due to a motherhood claim) as taxable income on my 2006 income tax return. Can anyone help me with this answer?
no you dont have to
if you were on payroll that decuction would be made "after-tax" due for that reason. its better to pay the tax on the premium than on the benifit (you benifit is only about 60% of you pay check, so take off another 25% from that and you dont have much left) sence you are on a bank draft, dont use your premiums as a tax inference, and you will be fine.
other aflac policies (like the accident and cancer) can be set up under IRS section 125 plans to be deducted from payroll pre-tax, frugal you about 25%. if you receive a benifit from those policies, you dont need to report those either.

Can A Person File An Insurance Claim Without Police Report? |
Nov 10, 2007 by Loomer | Posted in Insurance
Place:
Young driver with no driver's license driving an insured car. He hit the front bumper of another car and caused bumber to dislodge. Protect was called but they did not show and no police report was taken. Driver is claiming car is not his and was indecisve as to what he wanted to do.
Minor driver leaves phone number and plate info. Can the other driver persevere in a claim? What if young driver does not acknowledge what the other person is claiming?
Unconditionally, you can file a claim without a police report. Most of the time, it's darned hard to get the police to the scene, if both cars are drivable and there's no bodily wound.
Likely, if he was very young, the car belongs to his folks - and they'd be on the hook for any damage.
Here's what I'd do: 1. Line the claim with YOUR insurance company. Let them chase after it. The vehicle could be stolen, and the other guy might not have any coverage for the unlicensed driver. 2. Call the pd, see if you can portfolio a police report over the phone. Give them the plate number, and in 10 days, get a copy of the constabulary report to see if the info on the other owner is there. If it is, you can then sue the other owner AND the kid, and his parents, if you can find them, in small claims court for the damages. 3. Also do a move number lookup at www.anywho.com. Maybe you can track someone down that way.
Regarding the acknowledgement . . . all you have is the speech with the number and plate . . .which IS an acknowledgement that SOMETHING happened.

Nov 15, 2006 by Gordon F | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My sibling took my bike and parked it at a friends house outside 2 weeks ago where someone sawed through the tube with a hacksaw . The bike is fairly much totaled, but he didn't fess up until recently. I know the item is covered under the homeowners guaranty, but is it still worth it to file a police report and insurance claim or should I forget about it?
You should have reported this as presently as you knew about it.

Can I Still Work A Deal With The Other Party After I Report A Collision Claim? |
Jun 19, 2007 by Tim V | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Today another guy back into my park car on the circle and cause a good damage to the driver side door. He wanted to work out a lot in getting my car repair. Can I still work a deal with the other party after I report a collision claim? With a deal calling out, I don't want his insurance increase.
Here's some robust advice: screw him and his rate increase. His damn rates won't go up nearly as much as it will to mend your car PROPERLY. You are about to be screwed right out of any money, pal, so you better go ahead and report this to your insurance ensemble. They will fix your car and collect the money from him.

What Action Can You Take Against A False Collections Claim On Your Credit Report? |
Sep 28, 2007 by jenjonessb | Posted in Credit
A ex cable provider has a collections claim on my credit report for $35. When moving away from the room (2 years ago) they do not show that I returned the cable modem (which I did). I was not aware of this until I went to refinance my auto accommodation. I called the company two weeks ago today and they were looking into the issue. Since then I have spoke to 5 unalike people and no one is calling me back - and I have called 30+ times where the call is unable to connect because the lines are all full.
I hunger this off of my credit report because it is hurting my ability to refinance at the low rate. I tried disputing it with Experian and it came back as a confirmed accepted claim.
Normally, you should never merely pay a bill if you have valid reasons to think you don't owe it. Do you have no proof you returned the modem. If you don't then the simplest and quickest way would be to pay the particular. Proof that you returned it would be something like a receipt or Proof of Mailing. Barely your verbal "I returned it" will probably not hold up in any court.
First prevent calling them. Any communication with them should be through certified mail with a return receipt. This way you have proof that they got your letters.
If you do have mainstay send a copy of this proof to the collection agency stating that it was returned and you scarceness this item removed. They have 30 days to respond and if they do not respond in 30 days you can friend the Credit Reporting Agency(Experian) and state that they did not respond and have it removed.
If you have no brace, send a letter to them offering to pay the amount in full IF they remove the collection account. In most cases they will favour to this. However, do not send any money to them until you have a letter from them that they will agree to do that.
