What factors does an automobile accident attorney reckon with when determining to accept a case or not?
How would you rank them in importance and why?
 The good chance of winning and then actually recovering money and then whether the money is likely to be enough to make it merit his time. Same as plumbers, electricians and anyone else in the business of providing services.

My sister is a practicing attorney in OH. I would call her. She told me there's this internet index of attorneys that other attorneys subscribe to, starts with an *M*, can't remember, but other attorneys can look up attorneys on it. I over of it as the AM Best Rating for attorneys.
So, I'd go to someone I know, and ask them for a professional referral.

What Do I Do If My Accident Attorney Never Returns My Calls? |

It's been a year now and can't get any effect from the attorney's that took my case
I would call him one more while and send a certified letter and tell her/him that since she/he has not returned your numerous calls to give you an update on your casket that you are putting a complaint against her/him to the BAR association. Give her/him 24 hours to call back, if he/she doesn't google the BAR Relationship in your state and either call or fill out the complaint form on line. After placing the complaint with the BAR association I would then send a certified correspondence literature asking for all of my records pertaining to the case and fire the attorney and get a new one.

whats a good percent for the attorney?
Almost every attorney will take 33% (1/3) of the tot up recovery or settlement. However, it is unclear whether other costs (such as hiring an expert witness, doing investigations, etc.) are INCLUDED in this fee or are ON TOP of the 1/3 fee. Look into that when you contest with the attorney. Also, look for a "Martindale-Hubbell Rating" of AV, which is the highest rating.

one of the highest rated and largest in the phase. They are the one our legal services plan uses which gets us a 25% discount for such things. I am not always thrilled with them (who is with any lawyers?) but for things like this they are commonly known to be good. If you want to know more about the discount thing you can email me. Accidents are most always handled on contingency by any GA legal practitioner meaning they get paid only if they get you $$ we just have to pay them less.; Rates for defending would be personal of course if you are the one being sued. For ggoodnesssakes stay away from most all the TV advertising ones. Most are ripoffs.We had very bad sustain with one. I had an answer taken off and penalized for saying which one but click my name and you can email me.

My Attorney Forgot To Pay One Of The People Owed After An Accident, Am I Still Responsible Or Is He? |

I was in a car accident and hired an attorney. We settled with the security company, and he proceeded to sort out all of my bills. He neglected to pay one after he negotiated a price with them, and released the surviving funds including those that should have been payed to the insurance company to me. Now that time has passed and I have allotted the medium of exchange to other things they have contacted me and of course they want their money, should the attorney be responsible for this, considering I was under the assumption we were through when unused funds were released?
You are at bottom responsible, since the money that should have went to the creditor went to you. However, your attorney probably committed malpractice by messing up the division. I bet if you talk to your attorney about it, they would be happy to either pay it or at least pay part of it if you would be willing to sign something agreeing not to sue them for malpractice. Just call the attorney and talk to them about it. Reliance me, they will want to work with you on it! Good luck!

Can My Auto Accident Attorney Really Do This? |

I was in a car accident in Aug, 2004.
My attourney completed the first colonization with the at-fault driver's insurance company for $25,000. He advised me to take a lesser parcel and allow him to pay a greater amount toward medical bills and get them settled. He explained that, when we filed a UIM put with my insurance company (having medical bills settled), that I would get the entire amount, less his 33 1/3% from the double claim.
I ended up with far less than he told me to expect from the first claim (and he still has 2,400 in a trust endowment) but at the completion of the UIM claim, he cut me a check for "proceeds pursuant to final disbursement averral".
We were both thrilled with the final outcome.
He is now contacting me telling me that medical bills have not been settled after all (his secretary's flagitiousness a wrong amongst also stating that it's my fault as well).
He tells me that I need to pay back money to the firm (and the figures have diversified from $2,000 to $20,000).

If so read it (all of it) Tell him you want a copy of all the paper work involved with the encase. Pay outs should have been verified right after the outcome. These figures do NOT change.Tell him you are effective to discuss the variances from the settlement with another Attorney.My guess is they will change again this time in your favor. The renter of the home, Mike MacKenzie, woke up to the roaring dive of the car tearing through his home and discovered three people trying to pull each other from the wreckage. MacKenzie sustained non-life threatening injuries from flying plate glass that struck him from the impact of the crash. MacKenzie reportedly lost everything he owned in the smash, which included furniture, food, antiques, a sports memorabilia, and his 9-year-old daughters personal property. Fortunately, she was not at the residence when the wreck occurred. Great Falls Police officials stated felony charges are imminent in connection with the accident. MacKenzie told police he smelled alcohol on their breath. The smash is under investigation by Great Falls police officials.
