How Do I Make An Auto Insurance Claim For Scratches Through Auto Owners? |
Aug 11, 2007 by bigdogchris | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I bought a acquainted with car a few months ago that had a near flawless finish. Over the past few months it's been scratched several times by my nephew on his bike. We've talked and now I sine qua non to file a claim with my insurance. The marks are everywhere, back of the trunk, right rear quarter panel, hood, left-hand rear quarter panel.
The problem is, before I knew I could claim damages, I used a have access to up kit to cover the scratches and gouges so they are hard to see. But I could still take pictures of them as they stand now and probably get a strictly from the salesman, proclaiming the condition that he told it to me in. What else do I need to file a claim with Auto Owners? Yes, I have full coverage, including thorough.
I would pick out of pocket or pay for this yourself, each one of these scratches is a separate occurrence... which means for each scratch before your insurance will pay anything you have to pay your deductible for sweeping/other that collision coverage. Typically this is $500 or so for each scratch... in the end your only going to end up with a higher bonus and nothing from your insurance company to show for it.

Is The Auto-insurance Claim Information Shared If I Switch The Insurance Company? |
Jun 19, 2008 by Sean P | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Hi!
I am with auto-insurance band X right now and due to few number of insurance claims that I had made, my insurance is going up. I am wondering if I try to switch to some company Y, will X parcel my claims information with Y?
Thanks!
Most of the days, yes they will find those prior claims.
Many insurance companies participate in a national database that tracks claims. They will also authenticate you MVR records of any tickets or accidents. It is very difficult to slip one past an insurance company.
Fraudulently stating fewer claims than you really have is not a good idea. If you filed another claim and the prior ones were discovered, they could deny the new claim, back fee you a higher rate, and/or cancel the policy on the spot.
Because your rate went up due to the claims, it's not a bad point to shop around, just make sure they are rating you with knowledge of those prior claims.

Can You Be Sued Personally At The Same Time Someone Has An Auto Insurance Claim Against You? |
Sep 10, 2007 by russ_0067 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My helpmate was involved in an auto accident last October. The other party submitted a claim to our insurance company this February for bosom injury. The insurance company has determined very little liability and have not been able to come to an concurrence on the terms of settlement. We have just discovered the other party has filed a personal impairment suit against my wife. Can this be done at the same time? Is the insurance company supposed to deal with this? If the other party gets paid by the insurance flock, would my wife still be liable for damages? What if the insurance company and the other party never come to an agreement? Help?!
Offend over a COPY of any paperwork you receive concerning the lawsuit, to your insurance company. If the insurance company cannot reach an accord, a mediator will be called in by the courts to settle it. The person cannot progress with a civil adjust until the insurance coverage is finished and cannot draw two amounts for what has already been paid to satisfy the claim. (This is assuming damages were paid in full through the insurance.)

Anyone Heard Of An Auto Insurance Claim Scale? |
Aug 25, 2006 by exact l | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I recently got into a car fortune. Does the amount of increase in your auto insurance premium depends on the total amount of your claim? I reside in CA and insured with Allstate.
Not sure-fire about Cali, but the other post was pretty accurate. Usually the company has a threshold. Could be 500, could be 1000, could be anything. Could be that your rebuke is not "surcharged" but you lose something like a good driving (claims sovereign) discount, which is just about the same as a surcharge, either way your rates go up. There's nothing out there published because it's all based on guidelines for the circle's underwriting dept.

Should I File An Auto Insurance Claim? |
Feb 02, 2008 by ozzie_c_cobblepot | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I just had an serendipity, and the damage to the counterparty's vehicle was $3000.00. Should I pay for this myself or should I file an auto insurance claim? My son is under 25 and was at fault in the smash.
The other dinner party will also be entitled to a rental car while his is being fixed and could claim injuries.
Turn it into your insurance company and let them handle it. That's what insurance is for.
Tear a strip off your son that he will have to get a job and pay you how ever much your insurance goes up. It will provide an excellent learning opportunity for him. And - since he will have to pay for this and any future insurance increases he causes (accidents -tickets etc).- he'll doubtlessly be a little more careful when he drives.

Is It Possible To Withdraw The Auto Insurance Claim After Filing? |
Dec 06, 2007 by joy123 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I've been complex in an accident and the other person agreed to reimburse the entire expenses. I know the individual before the accident happened. I called the insurance agent to withdraw the claim and the insurance agent is saying that it is not plausible to withdraw a claim once it is filed. Is that true?
...and if you DON'T go back on the claim, be sure to NOT collect anything from the other person.....you can REALLY get into hot water by doing that!
Impartial call the claims department and NOT your agent in this instance!
Good luck and I hope this helps!

How Will My Auto Insurance Claim Work Out? |
Mar 20, 2007 by punkangel070 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My boyfriend and I got into an catastrophe, where he was at fault. Although he was the driver, the car's mine and I'm insured under it. I've already filed an insurance claim and I'm getting an appraisal right now. The car had stringent damage to the front (hood crushed, bumper torn out, headlights busted, grille pushed in, radiator cracked, and antifreeze limpid leeking out). The car is a 2006 Toyota Avalon w/ 24,000 miles on it. Is it possible that it's totaled?
It's been days since the accessary and we're both suffering back and neck pain. If we go to a chiropractor, how will the insurance money be paid out? Also, how does the Exclusive Injury Protection coverage work? Is it the same as pain & suffering? Do you ever come up setting aside with money for the bills? I'm real clueless as to how this ordeal will work out. Help!
Also, we both have Allstate. Is there any way to deliver this to his insurance policy since he was the driver?
Since the car is in your name, and he was driving it with your leniency, the claim will be made to your insurance, since insurance follows the vehicle, and not the driver. It is very possible that your car is totalled, there could be more damage that you dont be sure about under the hood, or in the frame or suspension. The vehicle and injurys will be handled like this: The vehicles ruin will be handled under collission coverage, you will be compensated for the damages to the vehicle, and it will be repaired, or if its totalled, they will pay the wastage-payee if there is one first, and then you, all payouts will be minus your deductible. The injurys for your boyfriend will be handled under your medical payments coverage, and if it exceeds that amount, it should be covered by the bodily damage coverage. Your injurys will only be covered by the medical payments coverage, and if it exceeds, you will have to pay the zizz, or claim it with medical insurance if you have it. Any other questions, call your insurance agent, he/she can help.

Yes they have you testify to your address. They have to know where to reach you, in addition to verifying the information provided on the insurance app. Is it a big reckon with? No.

How Long Does It Take For An Auto Insurance Claim To Clear You Record? |
Jun 14, 2008 by louser_99 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I currently have USAA and back in Nov 2005 I hit a smashed similar of tire on I-25. The tire ripped out my wheel well cover and took the electrical system with it. I made a claim that came out to 1K including my deductible. When difficult to change insurance this claim came up and uppped my 6 month policy by 300 dollars. It is not on my DMV driving record, can I still get the cheaper insurance thru revisionist.com? Thanks a bunch.
Due to the deed data it is a collision, it should be coming off your insurance in Nov. 2008.
If this ever happens again, tell them it was kicked back into you by another vehicle or fell off the back of a goods & then you ran over it. This way your not considered at fault.
If it's on your record now, it sounds like you hit a stationary object, which you are considered at responsibility for.
