How Can I Claim From My Small Business Insurance Or Life Insurance? I Recently Had An Incident Outside? |
Sep 02, 2009 by Raj | Posted in Insurance
infront of my establishment, intruder attempted to stab me. i have personal injuries. doctor recommended have a zizz atleast 6 mos.
i have both small business insurance and life insurance thru travelers and prudential.
plz advice where can i claim from?
As several posters explained neither the shamed business insurance nor the life insurance can assist you with a personal disability and/or injury claim. However, you still might want to check since there is a new sustenance policy that includes coverage for disability and/or you might at least have the provision that allows you to forgo paying your reward while on disability. Another thought is that if you have a cash value life insurance policy, i.e. a Universal Moving spirit or Whole Life, the policy might have enough money in "savings" to give you a loan which will balm your current cash flow situation. You should contact your agent to discuss these options.
In joining double check if you have any other short term disability coverage--the type that pays some of their personal to bills, i.e. some people purchase this on their car loans, on credit cards, through their bank or even if they are members of undoubted trade associations.
The other options are checking to see if your city, state or county has a offence victims compensation fund--some of these funds help with medical bills, medicines, furnishings and lost wages. While the amount is not usually large any little bit will help.
And consider getting a release consultation from an attorney to review your options vis a vis suing the perpetrator--this would be a real hunger shot in my opinion since he is probably broke but who knows. He might have just been released from a imperial mental health clinic and maybe you can go after the state for releasing this threat onto the noted? or some other third party liability!
I am sorry that this happened to you. However, do look at the bright side you survived! And you will get over this and be stronger and more compassionate it for it.
Elevated Luck!

Rental Business: Insurance Claim - How Do I Let A Contractor Know Politely I'm Not Going To Hire Him? |
Oct 05, 2009 by Independent_guy | Posted in Law & Ethics
Hi,
I am a landlady and have a rental business. Following a wind damage a contractor I called came and did some life-or-death work like cover roof temporarily etc. The insurance will pay him for that. However, there is more work to do and he provided a exemplify to do that too. I decided not to hire him because I learned the insurance is willing to pay me around $10,000 so I fix it myself or hire whoever I want to do it duly even if for less.
The contractor was nice to me and did come to the property a few times. How do I tell him my decision professionally without pissing him off?
I dearth at least to sound fair. I know I do not owe him anything but still I guess I did give him the impression he will do the other job as well. THANKS.
Thank you Everyone for the Spacious feedback and ideas! Regards, Neil

A Car Crash Into My Business, How Do I Get Maximum Insurance Claim? |
May 13, 2009 by alan2dylan | Posted in Insurance & Registration
A lot of my gormandize broke, the building is taking time to fix and i have to close my business for a week already. What i need to do?
Your business insurance should be covering pedigree, loss of business income, etc, and your commercial building insurance should be covering damage to the building. Your insurer(s) have rights of subrogation. You do not sue the driver, the insurance presence does. Hopefully you have 1 insurer, not 2, to deal with. Of course, if your business is on rented premises, then the principles of the landlord takes care of the building damage, and your insurer takes car of the business claims, including any improvements you have made to the business premises.

Claim Question Regarding Business Insurance? |
Dec 23, 2008 by dcl7662002 | Posted in Insurance
On my business action if I have a $1,000 deductible and a business personal property coverage limit of $1,000 how much am I adept to collect on a $2,000 covered loss of business personal property?
I checked my procedure and there is no co-insurance clause; it states "NA".
On this particular policy there is no co-insurance clause as it is 100%.
$1,000.
You take the perfect amount of the loss, subtract the deductible, then apply the policy limit.

No fraud.

My Business Threatened By Complex Insurance Claim, How Can I Get Out Of It? |
Aug 16, 2009 by Fran M | Posted in Insurance
My cast helped another fellow company in our sector to rent some assets at the last minute from a third train through our account as they didn't have an account with them. We facilitated the hire and the assets were stolen. These are very costly assets worth £100k and the business interruption charges go over £100K. Our insurance wouldn't hide for it due to the intricacy of the claim and the causes of theft and their insurance has just rejected the claim. We find ourselves in the middle of a situation that can carry out my business down without us doing anything wrong. We are a profitable business but nowhere near able to pay these amounts. Can anyone suggest a way aid/ out? Please, I am completely devastated and lost...
This was not a scam but a theft from the other cmpany's client's conveyance. The iinsurance nvestigation have taken 10 months to come to a decision. On top of that I don't understand whether the company the goods were rented from has got paid by their own insurance or not but they are sending now payment reminders...
To be severe, your business is not threatened by a complex insurance claim, it is threatened by the illicit theft of valuable assets. You destitution to sue and take criminal actions against the party which stole your assets. If this was some kind of scam and the perpetrators cannot be found, that may be perplexing to do. Most insurance covers the physical theft or destruction of property. Insurance cannot provide protection against scams otherwise they would tout de suite go out of business. You don't go into enough details as to how these assets were stolen to evaluate what you can do. Good luck.

Rental Business: Is It True Amount Of Claim Will Not Affect Insurance Premium? |
Aug 24, 2009 by Independent_guy | Posted in Insurance
Hi, is it reue slues of claims affect insurance premium more than amount of each claim. so for example if I have one big claim total $50,000 it will still be considered as ONE claim and therefore not alter future insurance premiums as much as say 3 small claims of $10,000 each!? THANKS.
Not accurate.
For business insurance, both the frequency and the severity of the claim are reviewed. What they look at, on the whole, is the loss ratio - that means, the portion you pay in, vs how much they pay out.
Even if you have a 20% loss ratio (they pay out 20% of what you paid in), if you have more than one or two claims, that's a major red let up - especially if it's the same type of claim happening over and over. Because that's going to KEEP happening.
But if you get to 100% loss relationship, or over, you'll have to work darned hard to show them it was a fluke, and won't happen again.
But, if it makes you feel improved, rental businesses are really high risk, and you're not going to find many insurers complaisant to write that type of coverage AT ALL. And it's going to be really expensive.

When Will I Need To Buy Additional Business Insurance For My Car? |
Apr 28, 2007 by woowoototo | Posted in Insurance
I don't fall short of to spend extra money on business insurance because I have an inactive self-employed business and I don't go to see clients often. What happens if I had a car mistake on my way to see a friend? OR to see a cleint? Does it make a difference when I make a claim? What about % of my business use of car and personal use of car? Is it a main factor for the insurance company to define if it is business use or not. What about the nature of business? I am looking for some professional advices. Thanks you!
If you didn't have business coverage and the insurance friends could prove that you were using the car in any business pursuit they could deny any claim that you might file. That could be hard for them to prove, though.
Most companies don't badger about percentage of business or personal use, if you go see one client in a year you need business insurance. If you have business insurance you can still use the car for personal use as much as you want.

Other researchers have raised doubts about A.I.G.’s amount to worth since it was bailed out last year, and even the federal government has acknowledged the company may have painfulness repaying all of the money it owes, currently about $120 billion. But the report by Sanford C. Bernstein documents a big shortfall in A.I.G.’s hallmark and casualty insurance business — the part that has been renamed Chartis, which is supposed to be its core once it has restructured and sold other operations.
