Can You File An Car Accident Insurance Claim Without A Police Report? |
Aug 23, 2007 by MJJTWINS | Posted in Insurance & Registration
this is re: a very minor-league accident. our car "bumped" into the other car after they slammed on their breaks. No damage at all to our car. The license plate and screws are "perverted" on the other car. Other person uncooperative and after we gave our insurance info to them, refused to give info to us. Observe on scene did not file report, told us to just deal with it on our own. My worry is, can they arrange a claim? wouldn't it be just our word against theirs? advice would be helpful thanks.
Yes, they can send in a claim and claim you did damage to their car and they now have whip lash. You should have told the police they were refusing to give you their information and it could have been dealt with at the beat.
All you can do now is file with your insurance so they will be ready when the other person tries to scam you for bunches of money. If the policewomen were there, even if they didn't do a formal report there should be something on the log about it. As I said, report it to your insurance with all the information you have, and hope they will do the integrity thing. Hopefully you did get the license number and make and model of the car you hit.

What Costs Would I Incur If I Cancelled My Car Insurance Accident Claim? |
Mar 14, 2007 by dugthebug | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I snapped a twist spring on the front shock absorber of my car as a result of crashing into a speed ramp and the car is no longer drivable. I tried to do the job myself but was unfit to do it. I have now made an insurance claim and the insurance companies recommended garage gave me a quote to replace both front shock absorbers which is wholly expensive. My no-claims bonus is protected. Since making the insurance claim, I have found a garage that said he could write 'finis' to the job I started at a reasonable price.I am now thinking I would like to cancel the claim end get my car back unrepaired. Is this politic and would my insurance premium still be affected at renewal time. Also, as my car wasn't drivable after the accident and the garage had to pile up it from my house and will have to bring it back.
Not firm where you’re located but in most States you have the right to have your auto repaired at any shop of your choice.
But to accept the blame for your question about if you should stop your claim? No, unfortunately the claim has been filed and it will go on your CLUE report regardless (if you’re in the US). So at this apex I would just let the insurance company take care of the repairs. Now how this will affect you at renewal time is anyone’s estimate. Just be ready to shop rates when you get your renewal bill. Who knows it may not be that bad and if your current hauler treated you well with the claim process a little increase in premium might not be that hard to swallow strikingly if they took good care of you.
Sorry about your mishap, hope everything works out well and substantial thing no one was hurt. Take care.

Has Someone Had Experience With Attorney Sam Goodman In The Metro Detroit On An Car Accident Insurance Claim? |
Nov 02, 2009 by Tyler P | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My old lady is 71 and was involved in an car accident that was'nt her fault. Her car was totaled and she has bruising that I know of. Would you recommend this attorney. I don't discern what to do other than phone the other guy's insurance company. Other people tell me we need an attorney. However, I'm not looking for a hunger drawn out process. I just want issues resolved.
There are tons of places where you can get a munificent insurance quote. http://www.autoadvicetips.com/Auto-Insur ance-Quote.html It only takes maladroitly 10 minutes to do.

Reopening Car Insurance Accident Claim To Sue Other Party For Lost Car Value? |
Aug 12, 2007 by tami m | Posted in Buying & Selling
accident was other parties vice her insurance triple a repaired my car but i think they should have totaled my toyota instead of fixing. The other car embroiled with was a ford explorer who backed into me in a parking lot and smashed my right front and side bumper.
Unless you are driving an '85 Toyota, that's not enough injury to warrant totaling it. Nor is it the type of damage that when properly repaired will materially feign the value of the vehicle.
You can sue if you wish but it won't go anywhere. If you don't win it's entirely likely that you'll be stuck with the other party's attorney's bills on top of your own. The way that attorneys attack that's probably more than the cost to repair the damage was in the first place.

Should I Settle My Moderate Car Accident Insurance Claim? |
May 03, 2007 by Mommy | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I was in a accident in November 06 the accident was all of the other persons blunder I suffered some stifness in my neck and back which my doctor referred to a physical therapist which I saw for about two months welli had insurance and went to a preferred provider which discounted the bills to about $1200 and the insurance public limited company want to settle for the $1200 and $1000 for my pain and suffereing I dont advised of if I should just accept it I dont need the money really bad but I dont neediness to be greedy nor do i want to a fool
I was really in the same situation around the same time, and as a claims adjuster I see this often. Based on 2 months of treatment, with a flabby tissue injury, the offer they have made you does seem fair. You may though have other circumstances that we are not aware of here. If you tolerate you have other arguments that you believe make your claim worth more, there is no harm arguing them. IT may or may not affect the end result of your claim. However, be aware, and I considered this myself as well - the money was never yours in the first place. Yes you are entitled to be compensated for your pain and distress, however if your feeling well now, and it didn't really affect your life, do you think $1K for your 2 months is merit it? If so, just take it. It'll be a nice bonus for you right before the summer.

Something About Car Accident And Insurance Claim? |
Oct 05, 2007 by specialboy | Posted in Insurance & Registration
okay here is my puzzler. I get into a small car accident but the main problem is that during that time my car is insurance with AllState than I switch to StateFarm because my AllState close day after the accident. I cannot claim on my insurence company since i'm not insurence with them during the accident. What can I do about it now?
Insurance doesn't profession like that.
Your policy has "effective dates". If your ways was "effective" 'til the day following your accident, you have coverage with Allstate.
Make your claim. They claims guy won't give a flying lose one's cool that you're no longer insured with Allstate. His sole concern is that your "occurrence" happened within the in operation dates of the policy.

How Long Before A Car Insurance Accident Claim Becomes Exempt? |
Jan 03, 2007 by daniel n | Posted in Insurance & Registration
my old lady had a bump in her car today nothing major a old guy may make a fuss were worried about losing her 3 years no claims if we dont advised anything when can we forget about it??????
It depends on the laws in your area. In Manitoba you have 2 years to put in a claim, as long as nobody was injured, but a person would be crazy to wait that large. Damage is hard to properly estimate after 2 years of the elements, and memory becomes untrustworthy. You don't say what kind of damage, but if the "old guy" has a little damage to his vehicle, and is putting in a claim, you could investigate to see what it would cost to just buy it out.
