Direct Line Car Insurance Named Driver No Claims Discount , Is It The Same 'rate' As Regular No Claim Discount |
Jan 21, 2008 by lornalmnopqr | Posted in Insurance & Registration
No it isn't. This is at superb very misleading, and a worst a con. I would advise looking elsewhere before getting locked into this. There may well be better deals out there. Nowhere on the Run Line website does it tell you that the Named Driver no claims discount is at a disparate rate from standard no claims discount, and when they issued a press release when this plan was launched the rates were the same. However, Direct Line have now changed the rates to be (surprise, surprise!) significantly discount (40% for 5 years rather than 65%) but they don't make that information available - the rates are not listed on their website and they striving to tell you what they are even if you ring up and ask. Customer relations say that they have had a number of complaints about this, but haven't yet done anything about it. My thought is that they are deliberately misleading customers into thinking they will get a full no claims discount by being a named driver on a With no beating about the bush Line policy.

Car Insurance Claim Failed. I Am Totally Innocent And Will Not Give Up. Where Do I Stand With This? |
Aug 26, 2007 by crazeetaxi | Posted in Insurance & Registration
The blunder happened on a roundabout I was already on, someone pulled out on me and I T-boned the side of their car.
An 'independent' assessor has looked at my car and wrote a check compensation report which went to the other drivers insurance company (who I am personally claiming from as my insurance is 3rd party covering only).
Their company have now wrote to me saying they are denying my claim because:
They can't understand why the whole front of the car is damaged (erm..because I T-boned the other car!)
They can't learnt why the nearside wing is damaged (erm..because she kept driving for a few seconds, which tried to draggle my car to one side. The chassis went out of line and it moved the wing out of position).
They can't understand how the nearside door is damaged (erm..it isn't!).
Is there much else I can do other than compose to argue their statement?
A solicitor or small-claims court would not be cost basic as I'm only claiming approx £400.
What can I do?
I would observation that your insurance company and her's would fight it, not them send you the letter.

You can sue anyone at anytime for anything (if that is what you are asking)
Your suspicions about is so poorly worded and without punctuation it is nearly impossible to know what your question is.

Question About Car Insurance Claim Due To Accident? |
Aug 08, 2009 by cleveland129 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I exigency some help. I am hoping someone can help me.
On valentines day this year I was involved in a small fender bender casualty due to Icy slope road.
I was driving down a hill and someone who was infront of me had slipped on ice and went up a check in the middle of the street. I saw the incident when i was half way down the hill. I was slowly driving down when all of a unwonted i hit the same ice patch..I was almost clear of the guy who went up the berm. However just as i was getting behind him,
he put his car in reverse and started approval offf the hill. I couldn't do nothing because he backed off and my front corner caught his rear corner. "A cop was behind me before we even got to the hill avenue."
We pulled over and the cop then told us that it was my fault.
I asked the cop why because he backed off the curb and chances are he didn't look to see if anyone else was coming down the passage.
The guy told the cop that the reverse lights are automatically on no matter what.." Thats b.s..This guy is about 65" I have in mind he panic and didn't pay attention.
Anyways,
The guy called his insurance company and filed a claim.
Only matter is I was just let go of a job due to budget cuts and raising 2 babies on my own. I couldn't afford the insurance. I didn't prod my vehicle because of it until that day when I despritely needed to get to the store. I usually drive a family members car that allows people over 25 to send.
The guy called me and said you have no insurance. My insurance company wants me to sumbit this claim and they said you will lose your certify and you will get suspended. he said..He said i know you have two babies and the damage isn't anything but a small whack.
How about we work something out... I replied okay.
He said you give me 250 cash and we will be sympathetic.
This was back in febuary. Its not august. The guy has called me one time in june to say he wanted the money at once. I said let me know and i'll be happy to give it to you.. Well I haven't heard from him. Then today he said lets fancy plans for tomorrow. then he calls and cancelled saying i'll call you next month..
I know i was defective to drive without. It was either pay it or buy needed items for my kids. I offered to pay this guy but he will never show. I want this over with... He keeps waiting and its been almost a half year already.. Is there a span line to collect on this situation?
I know this guy is the one at fault. I told him that but he keeps saying that on a honda correspond 2000 the clear rear lights are always on..
its not true...
If this guy doesn't pick up this loot i am going to tell him to forget it.
I believe there is a timeline... can someone confirm this...??? He did call insurance entourage the next day but didn't go through with the claim. he said he would handle it.. now he keeps stretching the timeline to meet...
Someone usurp me.. Serious help only.
Thanks.
Letters him a check or a money order, send it certified mail so he has to sign for it.
IF YOU DON"T HAVE INSURANCE, DON"T Proceed!
You're lucky he's not coming after you for more.

Will A Car Insurance Claim Cover Prior Damage? |
Jul 24, 2009 by Anthony H | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I glowing in Sydney and have full comprehensive car insurance through COMM INSURE. My car (94 Nissan pulsar) has had past damage to it (front bumper, guard etc.) but had been repaired, not 100% but so that most of the front would line up and fit flush.
I had an accident about 2 weeks ago (front of my car again, bumper, defence, headlights etc. and made a claim to get my car repaired. All got approved and the repairs had been completed. When i picked up my car yesterday the Smash Repairs told me that the Insurance company up to date them not to fix certain parts of the car (the guard behind the bumper) because it was damaged previously, although it had been repaired.
If you needfulness any more info just let me know.
I would just like to know if they are allowed to do that or should i take it back to them to fixing up?

Car Insurance Claim Question....they're Trying To Rip Me Off:? |
Oct 26, 2006 by MrZ | Posted in Insurance & Registration
A mouse got into my locomotive of my 04 Corvette, and ate away the insulation lining under the hood of the car. I call the insurance company and they say I am covered under my thorough to replace the insulator and to check for any other damage done by the mice; like chewing the wires, etc. Well, these mice stuffed this insulation into the air vents of the alternator, and may well have been inside it too, while edifice this nest. The insurance claims man says they will take care of the insulator and also any chewed up wiring, but they won't pay to get my alternator cleaned out. The key consultation is "clean". He says it's a simple clean; I say it is a "revamping", as the mice may have damaged the alternator by filling it with their nest. The dealer says they have to take the alternator off and dissassemble it to see if it is damaged and to launder it too, but this will cost a LOT. Should the ins co. be paying for this or not?
This whole handle is silly. What the insurance company is willing to do is pay for any DAMAGE to your alternator. If you are willing to shell out the gelt to have the unit disassembled and checked the insurance co. will probably agree to pay the entire cost if damaged wiring or electronic components are found. If it exactly has insulation material in it it can be 'blown' out with air pressure. The insurance company has no obligation to pay more that is necessary to renovation your vehicle, however, I don't know of a single carrier that will refuse to pay for legitimate damages. I mark the dealer is being somewhat excessive in his/her repair diagnosis, (typical dealer navy dept pile-ons). Why dont you TRY a high pressure blow-out first (this will cost nothing). If it quite is impossible to remove the material this way I feel certain your company will reconsider.

Car Insurance Claim Problem? |
Jun 28, 2009 by Silentseducer | Posted in Insurance & Registration
hi a week ago my girlfreinds ex came reverberating and smashed my car up,
it was towed away to be sorted and my insurance company said something along the lines of on my conduct i dont have to pay a excess,
i rang the insurance company after finding out the guy was getting prosecuted for it they said they quite wont persue it as legal costs to get the money will be more than the cost to fix the car (so i lose my no claims)
now i find out i have to pay 400 intemperance in a letter and my girl rings up her exs mum and basically they say it shud be sorted out at court(when he is due in) and that they have not heard anything from insurance
how am i meant to get my fat back????? he is getting sent to court for the crime not the money as insurance is sorting this out, i concern this is what i pay legal cover for!! absolutely useless tesco insurance
Well, in law there is the loudness " man of straw". This guy is probably not going to be worth chasing to get your £400 back.
Basically leaving it to the courts seems like a approving idea. You could, after the case, perhaps use the small claims court to get your £400 back.
EDIT the unvarying of excess will be stated on your policy. e.g. mine states £100 excess
Your legal incorporate provider should advise you on this.

Can Someone Initially Claim Off My Car Insurance Following An Accident If I Don't Accept Liability? |
Dec 08, 2007 by footie | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Complicated in an accident whereby pulled off from opposite side of road into single line of queueing traffic at a rotary. The gap I was going to go into the other driver decided did not want to let me in and so accellerated to close the gap, in doing so coming very wind up to the passenger side of my car. I stopped momentarily to allow them to continue, they didn't so I went forth damaging their wing mirror, which I could not see (small car). They say I am totally at fault, I say its 50-50. There is very small damage to my car that I am not interested in claiming for. Can they claim off my insurance initially or do they have to claim off their own and then go to mine?
Also, if it goes through insurance, as I am not claiming for any damage, unprejudiced 'informing them' in effect, do I pay an excess? Do I have to pay my excess on their damage?
both insurance companies will approve their own decision. If he files though your insurance, then your insurance may offer him what they decided(100% damages, 70% damages, 50% damages, depending on their assessment of shortcoming). If he does not like it then he can file through his inurance, THEN AND ONLY THEN would both insurance companies get together in attempt to reach a payment. Maybe your insurance company will offer him 70% and he accepts it. Then everything is done with right then.
Now your insurance company will get both drivers account of what happened and they will espy thier decision. If you don't agree with them, you can present your point to them but they may stick with their decision. Your way says that they are able to settle claims as neccisary and you don't have to agree with them. If your insurance company pays the claim(which they very well may) they are looking out for your A-one interest. If they feel that they don't owe a claim or only owe part of the claim they won;t pay more then then owe. They will base their decision on statutes and the rules of the road which most drivers are not 100% chummy with.
If your insurance company pays for thier damage, it will be under your liablity coverage which does not have a deductable or dissipation for you to pay.

Hit-runs drive rising caseload
01.12.09
Buffalo Police officers Officer Allan A. Kasprzak is a one-man show when it comes to solving hit-
and-run accidents. But his caseload is piling higher with each death day, with no relief in sight. "I'm like a conveyor belt, the express line at a supermarket. I try to grasp the cases as
fresh as they are and work them and move on to the next. Every day I'm off, they build up,"
said Kasprzak, who constitutes the metropolis's one-man Hit and Run Squad.
