How Long Is Your Car Insurance No Claim Bonus Valid For? |
Jul 23, 2009 by e-2 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My car insurance is due to breathe one's last next month but i dont intend to renew my car insurance as I am planning not to drive for a year or so. I should have 3 years no claims bonus by next month. How extensive will the 3 years no claim bonus be valid for?
Thanks
Varies from train to company as the bonus is just that, a bonus, and not an entitlement. Some will accept a "lapsed" bonus up to 2 years old, some a few months and some only allow a continuous bonus with no breaks.

How Long Does A Car Insurance No Claim Bonus Usually Last In The UK? |
Sep 19, 2008 by Limpopo | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I proletarian of course after the car has been sold.
It goes on you the driver rather than the car.
After three years of not driving (with some companies it's 2 years), you elude your NCB.
This happened to me during uni - didn't drive for three years as I couldn't afford it. I lost all my NCB and had to start again from 0. Boooo!

No Claim Bonus Car Insurance? |
Apr 09, 2009 by Sweet_Choc | Posted in Insurance & Registration
hello i have had 7 years of no claim bonus on car insurance out, how ever i have no way of proving it. do car insurance ask for proof of no claim bonus?and what happens if i dont provide the proof#?
If this is the UK and you blame succumb to from a country within the EU, get it in writing from your past insurer, translate it yourself, staple them together, go to your embassy, get them to demonstrate it and authenticate it, go to your insurer with it.
If they don't take it then they are breaking the law as it is a valid document and you could pursue it but in most cases it is less hassle to find another insurer.
If you have no support then you'll be starting as a new driver.
These will give you a discount after 8 months and other bonuses:

What's The Limit Of A Car Insurance's No Claim Bonus Discount? |
Jul 24, 2007 by jasonr_lau | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I last in Canada, if that helps.
I've bought car insurance from my broker agent for 20 years now and I still only get a 10% minimize. Has he been cheating me out of my no claim bonus discount? Is there a universal limit to the NCB discount rate (I've heard 60%), or does Canada have a individual limit of 10%? Something tells me that's not the case...
I in actuality recommend you shop around. Try no to stick to the same broker as it becomes self-defeating. When you contact other brokers, highlight your fantastic no-claims discount and they will bite your hand off to give you a better discount and recite hopefully.
I would be expecting nothing less than 50 - 70% if I were you.
Happy hunting at renewal

Ok, so i crashed into the back of someone, they got their bumper secure and i got a letter from my insurance company, but does this mean i will lose my no claims bonus??
If the claim went through your insurance Pty and you don't have protected NCB then in all likelyhood yes you will.
Some insurance companies allow for minor "fenderbenders" though.
You will have to hamper with your insurance company.

Unresolved Car Insurance Claim And No Claims Bonus? |
Jun 12, 2008 by h12cag@btinternet.com | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I had an blunder in october which was not my fault. The 3rd party insurer made a split fault offer which i have not accepted as the misadventure was not my fault.
My insurer has lost my witness statements which is hindering the process. Last week my insurance practice ended and i took out a new policy with a new company which requires my proof of no claims bonus. After receiving this touchstone i have lost 3 years no claims bonus and they have said they will not credit it til the claim is resolved.
Has anyone had any experience or suggestion on this. My legal cover and the insurance (Financial) Ombudsman has offered no advice.
I look nurse along to your responses.
I did look around for the cheapest renewal price. But since the claim is unresolved i thought inocent til proven conscience-stricken. Not guilty and prove your innocent.
As such the proof of NCB is 3 years lower than it should and would be without a claim.
This means i have to pay more on the insurance method we do have now and what are the possibilities of claiming it back???
Having read my policy document there is no clause detailing when the No Claims Bonus is removed from the custom. I will look at motoring law regarding this as i believe that the law surrounding this should be innocent til proven delinquent.
You can try this public limited company - http://carinsurance.deep-ice.com - I personally have their car insurance. They have provided no claim bonus for my friend who had similar plight, and did it without any problem.

With greatest satisfaction thing to do would be to ask the major companies !
Just email each one explaining about your certificate - see which ones will stomach !

Can I Transfer No Claims Bonus From My Car To A Motorbike Insurance Policy? |
Sep 27, 2007 by DAN C | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I currently have 6 years no claims bonus on my car insurance system but i am wanting to get a bike after i have passed my direct access and do not want to pay extortionate rates for an insurance tactics.
Yes but they don't hillock you that so this is how you get around it.
Simply add your bike to your current policy. They don't care how long you had your license, they won't ask you.
At best don't buy a crotch rocket and you won't pay through the nose.

What Costs Would I Incur If I Cancelled My Car Insurance Accident Claim? |
Mar 14, 2007 by dugthebug | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I snapped a helix spring on the front shock absorber of my car as a result of crashing into a speed ramp and the car is no longer drivable. I tried to do the job myself but was not able to do it. I have now made an insurance claim and the insurance companies recommended garage gave me a quote to replace both front shock absorbers which is unreservedly expensive. My no-claims bonus is protected. Since making the insurance claim, I have found a garage that said he could finish the job I started at a credible price.I am now thinking I would like to cancel the claim end get my car back unrepaired. Is this advisable and would my insurance premium still be mincing at renewal time. Also, as my car wasn't drivable after the accident and the garage had to collect it from my house and will have to produce it back.
Not confident where you’re located but in most States you have the right to have your auto repaired at any shop of your choice.
But to rejoinder your question about if you should stop your claim? No, unfortunately the claim has been filed and it will go on your CLUE report regardless (if you’re in the US). So at this headland I would just let the insurance company take care of the repairs. Now how this will affect you at renewal time is anyone’s postulate. Just be ready to shop rates when you get your renewal bill. Who knows it may not be that bad and if your current hauler treated you well with the claim process a little increase in premium might not be that hard to swallow conspicuously if they took good care of you.
Sorry about your mishap, hope everything works out well and honest thing no one was hurt. Take care.
