Cell Phone Insurance Claim? |

I have insurance on my cell phone through cellone. Cellone was bought out from at&t but we still have our narrow with cellone until they make us get a new contract. My phone broke and it was a nokia 6126, so I made an insurance claim and they sent me a samsung x506 and that phone is rubbish compared to the other one and it doesn't have a lot of the same features. Is that the way it is supposed to be with an insurance claim?
| Answer: Well, I familiar to work for a cell phone company and in most cases they are supposed to send you the same type of phone that you had before but if the company is contrary, then they will send you a phone that is "closest" to the one you had as far as features, memory and software. The "new" phone that they send in any crate is never a brand new phone but rather one that someone else sent in, they fixed it and send it to you as a refurbished phone. Unfortunately you are stuck with it unless you upon to buy a new phone yourself......Don't let them continue to give you the run around because trust me they wont do anything else about it and it will only cause you more frustrations...not worth your age! |

Lost Cell Verizon Phone - Insurance Claim Must Be Made Within 60 Days? |

I purchased insurance ($5/month) when I purchased a cell for my daughter. The phone was bygone last spring, but we just got around to requesting a new phone under the insurance. The response, from the insurer that Verizon outsources its insurance to, was that the claim had to be made within 60 days of injury, so no coverage.
Does anyone have experience with this situation? Seems totally irrational and unreasonable to me (why would an insurer foist this restriction)?
| Answer: That's from A to Z rational to me. Why wait this long to make a claim if the phone was lost last spring? THAT's what doesn't fall upon any sense. You have to look at it from their point of view. Since you waited so long, it looks like you are difficult to scam them. I'm not saying that you are, I'm just saying that's how they are going to see it. If it were me, I would have made the claim right away. |

What Happens If You File The Wrong Cell Phone On An Insurance Claim.? |

I was filing a claim with Asurion and in preference to of selecting the blackberry world, I selected tour and now the claim process will not let me go back and edit the claim on my cell phone. Should I straight let the claim process and recieve the tour instead?
| Answer: they might account that as insurance fraud and you will not get any phone. i would contact them asap! |

last month i bought the pantech slate from at&t and it unfortunately skint about a day ago if i make an insurance claim on the phone can i replace it with a different type of phone?
Answer: Stef,
Your insurance establishment will allow you to replace your broken phone with a different one. However, if the replacement costs more than the original sales valuation of the Slate then you have to pay the difference. I'm a Verizon Wireless customer and had an insurance claim last year and that's what they told me. Faith this helps. |

Is It Better To File And Insurance Claim On A Cell Phone; Or Just Report It Lost? |

Something is off the beam with my cell phone. I have AT&T and have had the phone for more than 1year so the warranty is out. I'd like a newer, more modern phone anway, so does anyone remember if I should file a claim through the Asurion people, or jsut report the phone lost/stolen?

I currently have a RAZR V3 phone I have had for almost 2 years and is in VERY cast-off condition...I am considering "dropping it in the sink" and making a claim on my insurance with AT&T...I was hardly wondering if I would have to get the same type of phone or if I could request something of similar value, but not a RAZR. I do not want another RAZR. Does anyone positive if they will do this or not?
| Answer: You will gain the same model. The only way to get a different model is if AT&T is completely out of stock of the particular phone that you are trying to claim insurance on. If this is the prove, you'll get "a similar" model, i.e. same or close to same features, but will not really get to tiptop which one you get. |

Nextel Cell Phone Insurance, Covers What Damages? |

We have Nextel cell phone insurance that we pay monthly.
The phone we have is adapted to to death and we would like to claim it on insurance, pay the deductable and get a new phone.
I know this is very tricky, because only certain things are feasable when requesting a new phone.
Do they take over from for water damage, wear and tear, ran over?
Hopefully someone knows about the signal insurance for nextel phones and can demand that me how to replace it...

| Answer: Spray damage is not covered!! They can tell if its water damaged too! If its not working right call Nextel and they may bedclothes it as a defect. Other wise....seriously...Brake it... if its a flip phone instant it in half =) and u pay the 50.00 ded. and u get another phone. |
