Can You Make A Seperate Car Insurance Claim After The Event?

A few months ago, someone ran into the back of our car while it was staionary.

Yesterday, our car, with Handbrake on, rolled off our effort and into a neighbours car, causing £100 ish of damage.

I suspect the earlier bump may have damaged/haggard the handbrake pad (car forward ahil stationary). Could we claim the £100 back as part of the first insurance claim?

Not if the first claim was settled. If you settled, the amount you received was a full and terminating settlement for all damage caused to your car, and should have been used to complete all repairs.

How Do I Make An Car Insurance Claim For Scratches Through Car Owners?

I bought a old car a few months ago that had a near flawless finish. Over the past few months it's been scratched several times by my nephew on his bike. We've talked and now I privation to file a claim with my insurance. The marks are everywhere, back of the trunk, right rear quarter panel, hood, fist rear quarter panel.

if your nephew's parents won't pay to have the car re painted, call your
ins. co. and determine them your car was vandalized, you don't have to say by who. they will take your claim and you will have to pay whatever your
deductible is. how did the hood get scratched? did he throw the bike up on the hood?

How Long Does One Have To Make A Car Insurance Claim In Alberta?

Does anyone positive, or can anyone tell me where to find info on how long one has to make a car insurance claim?

i've been in the government of AB website and the Alberta Insurance At all events board but i can't seem to find the info.
Alberta is in Canada

If I am not completely wrong, it is 2 years, the same as Manitoba, but the problem with waiting is accounting for any damage that occurs after the monogram accident, not to mention remembering correct dates and details if the claim did not involve a supervise report, such as a hail claim.

How Do I Get The Most Money Back From A Car Insurance Claim?

I was recently stern-ended in my car. There were no injuries to either party, just a little paint chipped, my bumper pushed in lose, and my trunk lid sprung. How should i go about geting appraisals performed? Should i get my appraisals from higher end bulk shops to ensure a larger check? this is my first insurance claim and i have no idea how this stuff works!! Please alleviate!

first of all, it doesn't consequence who's fault it is you should still try to get the most from your claim. so you should research ( what your doing now) inspect (even a non mechanical mind can notice metamorphose) if you see something that doesent look right, it's not right! and most importantly remember after it's all said and done you will still be pink with a previously wrecked car which is more likly to have issues down the road therefore it is your right to come out on on your claim....now how i approach this is i tell my body man that i want only factory parts on this car because that what it came out with, then i give away the whole show them i do not want damaged parts such as sheet metal (repaired) but removed and replaced. that will run up the belief real fast especially if it requires welding in a new trunk panel. the insurance throng will send out an adjuster to make their crappy lowball estimate . next step is the understanding...you have the ball in your court on this one, you tell the insurance company you wont accept their offer and that they call for to provide you with a rental car as yours is inoperable (which by law they have to pay for) then you drive their car and play the waiting game, most insurance have to pay out within no more than 30 days, after you get paid you can have your car unfluctuating with the cheaper parts, and take the leftover cash and go on vacation to forget about this stressful sense.

Can You Claim Car Insurance As An Expense?

I am a driving coach and im just wondering if i can claim my insurance, or any part of it, as a business expense. Never have done before as i only pay about £400 a year anyway but thought i'd authenticate!

I'm unfaltering you can claim most of it - but it might be taxable.

The alternative is for you (the person) to charge you (the instructor) for the use of your car...

Can You Claim Your Car Insurance If Your Car Needs Repairs Not Caused By An Accident?

If you have fully extensive insurance can you make a claim even though you have not been in a crash or other accident? The car in question has an MOT however it needs extensive repairs and is not drivable. The repairs are booming to cost more than the car is worth and so it really just needs to be scrapped or sold for a ridiculously negligible sum of money to someone who can fix it up. The problem is that there is still a huge outstanding balance for the loan repayment of the car! Can anyone purloin please?

If you are in the uk, you cannot claim. Insurance is for catastrophe damage such as being involved with another car/tree/ wall etc.

Repairs come under 'wear and scuttle' and are not covered. Also, most insurers wont pay out for a car that has not been looked after anyway - it usually states in your policy that you impecuniousness to maintain the car in a roadworthy condition. ive rejected claims for damage because the person skidded into a tree and wrote the car off, when we examined the car it was found to have bald tyres. The chance was preventable. if they had they maintained the condition of the tyres they wouldnt have skidded, so no pay out.

a lot of people in this predicament decide to make a fraudulent claim and have the car'stolen' and burnt out - insurers are aware of this and will still be skilled to check the condition of the car - they can tell if it was in good condition or not. Its one of the things they check as so many people claim its been stolen & burnt when its in crap form.

Same goes for smashing it into a tree to make a claim - they will still check the previous condition of the car, mechanism etc and will deduct money for poor condition.

How about getting the repairs done with second influence parts - you dont say what needs doing, but if you can get parts from a scrapyard it will reduce the payment a lot.

See if a small independant garage will come nd take a look at it - tell them u want to use jiffy hand parts etc, see if they can give you a quote or advice.

There is nothing you can do about the loan on the car, it has to be paid, you cant get out of it.

And next time you buy a car - get it serviced and repaired when it needs it, dont something goodbye it til it falls apart!

Should I File A Claim With Car Insurance?

I drove my car into a column in a parking lot, denting and scratching the Heraldry sinister side of the car. Repair estimate is about 1600. My insurance deductible is 500. Is it worth filling a claim? How much will my premiums go up if I systematize a claim? I have excellent record otherwise.

How Much Time Is Given For Car Insurance Company To Settle A Claim?

my car was hit in parking lot and insurance is dragging its feet to winnow. how much time is officially allowed for this investigation and what are my rights bacause it has been 30 days today. i have a full insurance on this car and insurance following is investigating as a fraud claim!. insurance from metlife!

Claims being investigated for trickster are under different guidelines than claims that are not being investigated for fraud. and when a claim has been brought into the SIU department that info isn't shared with the himself being investigated. But when they are brought into SIU, it's for a darn good reason, whether you're committing fraud or not. By law the insurance has to sift through suspicious claims, whether or not it actually is.

As for what 'cece' recommends, contacting the state...you can do that, that's your alternative. But once they are aware your claim is being investigated for fraud--you're done.

Why Is My Car Insurance Claim Taking Soooo Long?

Hi all

My car was stolen on 9th December and I still am waiting for a conclusion. My car has not been found and my insurers are requesting for a police report which will take up to 40 working days.

Does car insurance claims generally speaking take this long???

Thanks

In theory the insurance visitors wait a while so that the vehicle has a chance to be recovered.

If you are concerned about the length of the claim then you should contact the insurance performers and point out their obligations to customers - especially under the FSA rules ICOBS 8.1: http://fsahandbook.info/FSA/html/handboo k/ICOBS/8/1
