Automobile Insurance Comprehensive Claim Question. Help!!!!?

I finish in Gastonia, NC and have a comprehensive insurance claim in process. The value of the car is 11,650.00 and the estimate on the claim is 8,705.49. What are my options and rights? The spoil is very close to being 75% of the value of the car. I am not out to take advantage of anyone, but I work hard for what I have and I want to be decidedly sure I am not cheating myself. Can someone with experience with this situation, the laws or work in the field please relieve me? Your help is much appreciated.

The insurance presence ALWAYS has the right to "make you whole" at the least possible expense. That means they have the goodness to repair if in fact it would cost less to repair than to total the car. IF they were to total the car they the car would be theirs, and they would give you the "despondent book" value for the car less your deductible.
Insurance laws differ from state to governmental but I suspect that my statement above is going to be pretty accurate no matter where you are.
I definitely would take my car to "my own" richness shop however to reassure myself that the estimate for repair is accurate. I'm guessing that the companies damage appraiser has established the $8,705.49 and he's very likely accurate but you should make sure for your own satisfaction.

Comprehensive Insurance Claim?

Should you get an assessment from a repair shop before filing your claim? My deductible is $500 for comprehensive (an animal ran into side of car doing 75 on freeway), but I just now filed a uninsured motorist claim a month ago (on different vehicle) and the insurance co paid $2800.00 to fix. I'm fearful about my rates going up and If the damage is less the deductible then obviously don't file the claim. However, the spoil is probably more, but I'm really worried because of the previous claim which was not my fault, nor is the new accident. Do they take fault into care on deciding whether to up your rates????

WOW! An zoological doing 75 on the freeway. Must have been a cheetah. http://www.extremescience.com/cvideo.htm the mankind's fastest land animal.

Yeah, I know, but I couldn't resist. As to your actual question, accidents that aren't your fault don't count against you and don't raise your rates. But yes, you can get an guestimate first and then decide on filing.

It may surprise you how expensive a little dent can be. I fob off on you well.

Comprehensive Car Insurance Claim & What To Expect?

I was mixed up with in an accident, and have comprehensive. The car is totaled (costs to repair will definitely exceed value of car/insurance). Chance happened when I swerved to avoid being hit by another car without lights on a dark rural road (I'm in Africa but insurance is from UK). Pty have asked for 2 estimates, but didn't ask for a police report, although I can get it.

It was only my car that flipped, since the other driver didn't hit me and didn't terminal (obviously, since he was driving without lights!). Do they need a police report?

What can I foresee? As for value of car, there really is no market price here, since you can get a used car of same model for 2,000 pounds or for 6,000 pounds; depending on who you buy it from, acclimate, etc. Free market basically. Although I accept value declines over 1.5yrs, and that there's a deductible, I'm nervous they offer me MUCH less than what it was worth, seeing the excellent condition it was kept in and what I could have sold it for.

Habits will tell.

If I Report An Auto Insurance Claim Under My Comprehensive, Does It Count Against Me?

Not secure whether to report an damage to my vehicle. I estimate the cost to be about $ 500.00 +. My deductable is $ 500.00. Any info will escape :)
Please note: this was not an auto accident.

It depends on the style you are in. That is what was told to me by an insurance adjuster in Missouri when I had a table fall into the door of my truck when I was unloading it.

Comprehensive coverage is to binding accidental damage not related to a collision such as fire, hail, theft, falling objects, ect. You DO NOT have to come to terms a claim to your insurance carrier on this, especially if you live in a state where they can raise your rates as comprehensive coverage is not required by law. I would hugely recommend not filing a claim regardless if your damage was not caused by a collision and your cost of repair is under the fetch of your deductible regardless of the state you are living in.

Went Online To Get Car Insurance And It Said They Had To Charge Me Extra Because I Had A "comprehensive Claim"

By amazingly I mean 40 bucks extra every month. The "comprehensive claim" charge fifity dollars and was to fix a small dent in my windshield that I would have paid for had I known. I consider scammed. Anything I can do?
Anyway I guess this needs more details. I AM shopping around for insurance, this claim is on my MVR and is making my payments inflation with all companies that I've looked into so far. Ugh.

Nope. That claim is common to show up everywhere you go. Best you can do, is offer to not put "comprehensive" coverage on your car, or do it with a $1,000 deductible.

How Much Money Can I Expect To Get From My Fire Related Insurance Claim?

My car, a 2001 Pontiac Monumental Prix with 100,000 miles, experienced an engine fire about two weeks ago. Luckily, I have comprehensive insurance, with Nationwide Insurance Establishment. I've been told I'll be recieving the Kelley Blue Book value of my car, but on KBB there are several different categories (selling-in, retail, etc.) Which amount can I expect to get from Nationwide? I need to get a new car pronto and need a price index of how much I can spend.

Can You Claim Your Car Insurance If Your Car Needs Repairs Not Caused By An Accident?

If you have fully comprehensive insurance can you represent a claim even though you have not been in a crash or other accident? The car in question has an MOT however it needs extensive repairs and is not drivable. The repairs are current to cost more than the car is worth and so it really just needs to be scrapped or sold for a ridiculously mini sum of money to someone who can fix it up. The problem is that there is still a huge outstanding balance for the loan repayment of the car! Can anyone serve please?

If you are in the uk, you cannot claim. Insurance is for luck damage such as being involved with another car/tree/ wall etc.

Repairs come under 'wear and hole' and are not covered. Also, most insurers wont pay out for a car that has not been looked after anyway - it usually states in your policy that you indigence to maintain the car in a roadworthy condition. ive rejected claims for damage because the person skidded into a tree and wrote the car off, when we examined the car it was found to have bald tyres. The addition was preventable. if they had they maintained the condition of the tyres they wouldnt have skidded, so no pay out.

a lot of people in this position decide to make a fraudulent claim and have the car'stolen' and burnt out - insurers are aware of this and will still be qualified to check the condition of the car - they can tell if it was in good condition or not. Its one of the things they check as so many people claim its been stolen & burnt when its in crap condition.

Same goes for smashing it into a tree to build a claim - they will still check the previous condition of the car, engine etc and will deduct money for poor ready.

How about getting the repairs done with second hand parts - you dont say what needs doing, but if you can get parts from a scrapyard it will mark down the cost a lot.

See if a small independant garage will come nd take a look at it - tell them u neediness to use second hand parts etc, see if they can give you a quote or advice.

There is nothing you can do about the loan on the car, it has to be paid, you cant get out of it.

And next lifetime you buy a car - get it serviced and repaired when it needs it, dont leave it til it falls apart!

If I Make A Claim On My Comprehensive Car Insurance Are My Rate Goiong Ot Go Up?

i drove off the way when a vulture blocked my view and i did some lite body damage and bent the torsion bar and power steering portion

They should (though your claims dept. will be acquainted with for sure). The more funds it takes to repair the car, the more your insurance will charge you by increasing your berate (from my understanding, though all insurance companies are different).

Now if your deductible is $500, and it takes $800 to put the car, I would just pay the $800 and keep the insurance company out of it.

Flooding and your insurance claims and premiums

The pecuniary effect of flooding can be devastating, but often it is the subsequent upheaval that causes the biggest fret.

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) says that the average cost of flood impairment to homes is between £20,000 and £40,000.

But after severe flooding it can take up to 12 months for a feature to dry out completely.

The level of insurance claims from the latest floods that have hit Cumbria, west Wales and Dumfries and Galloway could overshadow £100m, but there are some basic rules that people affected should follow.
