We Have Had A Contents Insurance Claim Declined. Do We Have A Case For Appeal? |
Mar 07, 2009 by Bouer_J | Posted in Insurance
Our scullery was entered through an unlocked door during the day whilst my girlfriend and I were in bed. The intruder made off with a laptop and my girlfriends unstationary phone. Our insurance company declined our claim as the property was unsecured. Do we have a case to appeal?
Qualification of contents insurance is windows and doors must be locked.

Household Contents Insurance And Making An Early Claim? |
Mar 09, 2009 by giseppe b | Posted in Insurance
I had my legislature burgled last night and have had most of my valuable belongings stolen. I am a bit worried about making an insurance claim. The end for this being that I literally only took out contents insurance last Friday. So will making a claim so early into the policy have any complications?
I categorically need to replace what has been taken but am worried about potentially being investigated for fraud or something due to making a claim so fast.
You will have to make over an affidavit, very likely notarized. There will be an investigation, there always is in cases where claims are made right after a management is effective. If the time and date of the burglary are confirmed by the police, and you are honest and unreserved with the insurance investigator (likely an independent specialist, not a company employee), your only problem should be the impede caused by the investigation.

UK Home Contents Insurance Claim - Digital Camera? |
Jun 07, 2007 by weez9016 | Posted in Insurance
Has anyone succesfully claimed against their Place contents insurance for a Digital Camera? I have accidental damage & personal possessions insurance, but would like to be versed if anyone has succesfully claimed and what had happened to the camera?!
Thanks
Most Contents Insurance have an unanticipated damage section - and this often includes items up to some value outside the house.
Unfortunately, chances are you will have an 'overindulgence' of at least £100 (i.e. £100 is deducted from each claim) ... not a problem if you have been flooded out and are claiming 1,000's quality of TV, DVD Sky Home Cinema equipment (plus carpets etc.) .. but if you are claiming for a £250 Digital Camera you will only get £150 .. and most Policies will allow for some sort of 'no claims' discount - so your premium might well go up by more than £100 in a year ..

Contents Insurance Claim, Letter Writing Help? (lawyer's Wanted)? |
Oct 24, 2009 by surreallife | Posted in Insurance
In making an insurance claim for a out of whack laptop , are there any specific words that i can use to emphasise that it is a legitimate and valid claim? My contents insurance company falsely think that it isn't a valid claim so i need to prove it is to them in my letter. Thank you.
^ie. how can i prove it was accidently obedient ?
If you changed your fishing they might become suspicious. Did you change it? Do you have an explanation why?
Ask for a technical report on why they are invalidating the claim. Then just keep exacting that the claim is dealt with as per their terms and conditions . Eventually they will give up.

Santa Broke My Chimney - Can I Make An Insurance Claim On Home And Contents Insurance? |

what is his scheme number?
You're thriving to have to make the claim on YOUR homeowners insurance.
See, Santa isn't licensed to drive that sleigh. And the reindeer are prohibited animals interior city limits. Not to mention, that whole "magic dust" fetish that I'm just not going to touch.
So you need to put the claim in under YOUR homeowners policy, and pay the deductible, and then take him to tight-fisted claims court. Good luck getting the supoena to him - "North Extremity" is a pretty vague address, and your local Sherriff is going to price extra for that delivery.

Hi all, Ive been with my insurance plc about 2 months and I need to make a claim, is this too soon, will they pay out or will it just be too much hassle?

What Is Useful To Have In A Building And Contents Insurance And Making Claim Without Impacting My Premium? |
Oct 24, 2006 by prabo | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
What is a must for residency and contents as there are so many options. I also want to make sure I dont get stung so much. We have kids so could ground damage.
Also making claims for roofing and guttering, is that covered.
It's the numeral of claims that makes your rates go up. If you make a few claims over a few years it shouldn't go up. But if you pinch a $150 claim for this broken door, and $200 for the broken coffee table, etc. deem on it going up. It's supposed to be used for higher priced losses. Like someone breaking into your council and cuts all the leather furniture in your living room and it's going to take $3000 to put in place of.

LloydsTSB Contents Insurance Claim - Have To Go To Currys? |
Apr 21, 2008 by proud walker | Posted in Insurance
My daughter is insured with LloydsTSB has recently made a contents insurance claim for some audio appurtenances. They've passed the claim to another company who sent her a voucher to replace the items at insist she pays the £50.00 redundancy by card before she can use the voucher.
Is this normal please?
julimk
it's been a few years since we had a claim, but then they paid out the amount, less the excess, and sent us a cheque for the leftovers, then we decided where we'd shop to replace the item. Personally, I can't stand Curry's.
Disaster is we have a perfectly acceptable electrical retailer half a mile up the road, whilst Currys is a 60 mile a close trip, added to that, my daughter doesn't have a credit/debit card. Being her bank, you'd deem they'd know that LOL. Whoever's convenience they're working for, it definitely isn't hers!
Most insurers and/or extinction adjusters have discount agreements with retailers so the amount they will actually pay to the retailer is less than the high circle retail price. The excess would need to be paid first so that when she gets the replacement goods the full amount has been paid.
A spondulix settlement can sometimes be negotiated if the claimant insists but it will be less than the full value of the goods as it will be limited to the discounted amount the insurer would have had to pay if its chosen provider had been habituated to.
So yes, it's normal.

If Your Child Loses Something Valuable, Can You File A Claim For It Under Home Contents Insurance? |
Feb 27, 2008 by naruto_otaku | Posted in Insurance
homestead contents insurance covers all contents of the house irregardless of whose the owner right? i mean if your partner or lassie loses something, you can still make a claim for it even though you're the applicant right because it says house contents or am i wrong about this?
something valuable means ipod, a digital camera and a psp.
IF ( and I say IF) it were covered, it would be vulnerable to to your deductible on your policy - which is probably higher than the value of the items lost. But, guilt-ridden "LOST" is NOT on of the perils that insurance companies insure against.
Let this be a learning scolding to your child and DON'T replace them!! Maybe when you DO decide to replace them, they will take better sadness of them.
Chances are they were stolen by your child's friends anyway!!
