File Car Insurance Claim Or Pay Out-of-pocket In NJ? |
Apr 05, 2008 by Jessica W | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My 17yo daughter perfectly got her graduated NY license, skidded on wet corner, causing $1300 in damage to whirl location & susp. We have $500 deductible. Can we ask our insurance co. how much our rates will go up if we file a claim, or will that automatically flag her for additional points?
You can ask them before you file a claim. At least that is what I did. Then I paid out of receptacle. The first accident sould not raise you rates, Though the second time you will pay up the ***.

Can You File An Car Accident Insurance Claim Without A Police Report? |
Aug 23, 2007 by MJJTWINS | Posted in Insurance & Registration
this is re: a very unimportant accident. our car "bumped" into the other car after they slammed on their breaks. No damage at all to our car. The entitle plate and screws are "bent" on the other car. Other person uncooperative and after we gave our insurance info to them, refused to give info to us. Administer on scene did not file report, told us to just deal with it on our own. My worry is, can they file a claim? wouldn't it be very recently our word against theirs? advice would be helpful thanks.
Yes, they can file a claim and claim you did hurt to their car and they now have whip lash. You should have told the police they were refusing to give you their information and it could have been dealt with at the together.
All you can do now is file with your insurance so they will be ready when the other person tries to scam you for bunches of money. If the police were there, even if they didn't do a formal communiqu there should be something on the log about it. As I said, report it to your insurance with all the information you have, and hope they will do the right thing. Hopefully you did get the empower number and make and model of the car you hit.

How Do I File An Car Insurance Claim And What Exactly Will Happen To My Insurance Rate, Deductible, Etc.? |
Nov 09, 2009 by Lenora G | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My windshield was undeniably frosty but I only had to drive like 20 yards to get where I wanted. So like an idiot, I start driving and run into a fire hydrant. This damages the front good quarter panel, the right blinker, and it may have also damaged the axel or steering column because I couldn't get my car to move after that. What do I tear a strip off my insurance company? and am I going to have to pay anything?
well you have 2 options
call them up and file the claim, all you pay is the deductible but your insurance will go up after all
or if you don't want your insurance to go up don't even involve them and just pay for all the damages yourself
personally i'd just file the claim, ya the insurance will go up but its better to pay a minute bit more at a time than pay a lot at once to fix the damages, then after 3 years it will come off the insurance so it will go back down again, also it might not go up all that much since all they had to fix was your car not yours and someone elses
just if you do file the claim make steadfast to not have to file those types of claims a lot, the ones im talking about is like what you have, where you had an accident but no other vehicle or gear was damaged, reason i say that is if you file too many of those claims then the insurance company can raise your rate more than doubled or they can even-handed drop you and you have to find another company
oh and what do you tell them, just tell them what happened, they'll tell you what else you penury to do, i know you'll at least need an estimate from a body shop for all the damages

Should I File A Car Insurance Claim For A Flat Tire With 2 Rims And Bumper Panel Damage For $2000 (Geico)? |
Feb 06, 2008 by Fire Halo | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My missus got a flat tire, hit something she does not know what. Won't the insurance premium go up more than $2000 over the long run and thus will be more precious?
Louisiana Geico Policy
I can afford to pay for it now, if it saves me money in the long run.
I get a rebound out of how many people refuse to use their insurance because they fear their rates will go up. Why bother getting the optional coverages if you are not affluent to use them in times like this? $2k is an awful lot of money to pay out of pocket. Use your insurance. That is why you have it. Your rates may go up, but I distrust they will increase by $2k! Also, your policy may have "first accident forgiveness" on it. Ask your agent. Also, if your spouse has not had any priors and has a previously good driving record, that will be considered upon renewal.

Should I File A Car Insurance Claim In Accident With Neighbour? |
Jun 20, 2008 by dancingkitten777 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My neighour backed into my car when it was parked on the drive. The accident has been reported to the police. My car has two fairly large dents on the driver side. It's in driving teach but I'm not sure how safe it is. I have no idea about car repairs so I asked the police officer how much he concern it woud cost? He said $3000-4000. I talked to other people and they agreed with this but I haven't enchanted it to a car mechanic yet. I used the Canadian Black Book Web Tool and found the value of the mechanism was between $500 - $1500. My vehicle is probably on the low end of that scale. Since the repairs are more than the value of the car my understanding is that I would possibly only get $500. I'm thinking it's not worth my time to file an insurance claim under these circumstances. I'm considering asking my neighbour for a believable amount within those limits and settling it that way. What are your thoughts on this? Has anybody had a similar experience and how did it work out?
Wow, 5 answers in 15 minutes. By reason of you very much for your useful advice.
I remember that's a good idea.....

How Long Do You Have To File An Insurance Claim? |
Jul 03, 2008 by tritaniumzero | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Is a month after an fact too long to file a car insurance claim against a third party?
It depends on what government you are in and what type of claim you need to make. The time frame can be different for injuries than it is for car damages. Depending on the nation you will have 1 to 6 yrs.
So 1 month is not too long. I see plenty of claims that are reported much later than 1 month. However, it is worst to report it ASAP.
Good Luck

pause the laws, but you should be able to choose the repair place. they need to either pay you directly or pay the fettle facility.

To File A Car Insurance Claim Or Not? |
Jul 10, 2008 by Kevin L | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I was buttocks-ended earlier...my car doesn't have much damage...some bumper damage. The other guy had a lot more damage.
I am barely wondering if I should file a claim (I live in MN and it is a no-fault state) or if I'd be better of just fixing it and paying out-of-nick?
If I file a claim, will my rates go up? Even though the other guy admitted fault, because he wasn't paying attention and ran into the back of me.
I have a $500 deductible
The charge of a replacement bumper would be about $200 plus installation.
Kevin,
I administer MN claims.
If your damages are really less than your deductible file a claim through the other guys company. Make unflinching to get a complete estimate from a good body shop. The repair cost will be more than you evaluate, trust me on that.
Just to be clear in MN the phrase "no-fault" pertains ONLY to medical bills. It means that regardless of who is at-shortcoming for an accident, when it comes to medical bills an injured person must present their medical bills to their own car insurance for payment.
The axiom "no-fault" has NOTHING to do with determining fault or who pays for the car damages. If the other guy is insured his establishment owes you for the damages and a rental car while your car is in the repair shop..
Since this is a not at-fault accident, you can off with a claim to the other guys insurance without it affecting your rates.
If not already done, get a complete estimate and report this to the other guys insurance.

How Many Days Does Someone Have To File A Car Insurance Claim? |
Apr 17, 2008 by hayles617 | Posted in Law & Ethics
So I was in a very teenager fender bender about 10 days ago, neither car was noticably affected, it was at a stop happy-go-lucky going about 5miles per hour, if that.... regardless, we exchanged phone numbers and registration.
I even-handed recieved a call from the woman in the other car and she said she lost my information and would like me to give it to her over email. What is the approach on this? Does she need to file a claim in a certain amount of days to recieve any benefit? If I do not contact her back is that my put?
i live in massachusetts
Depending on the hold in which you live, but in most states, if the damage is under $500 it does not need to be reported. Call your village police department and ask what the monetary amount is for filing an accident report.
It sound to me like this miss contacted you because she is planning on filing a claim with her insurance company to get the damage to her car fixed, so you should contact her back and give her the tidings. You were in an accident and it is the legal and moral thing to do. She had it before, what difference does it make if she has it now. She has your phone number and if she files a claim and gives your phone number to the insurance presence they will be the ones contacting you for information if you refuse to give it to the person you were in the accident with, so either way, you're gonna have to give it.
And by the way, the beforehand frame in most states to report an accident is ten days.

Senators Expecting Many Amendments To Massive Health Reform Bill
28.11.09
Some rumour organizations are examining what lies ahead for the Senate. Roll Call : "Dozens of amendments will be considered over the next month, and Best part Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) must hold together all 60 members of the Democratic Talk in order to beat back politically harmful GOP amendments and ultimately clear the way for irrefutable passage. Reid successfully rallied his Democratic colleagues to vote in favor [60-39] of bringing the bill to the down. ... Moderate Democratic Sens. Mary Landrieu (La.), Blanche Lincoln (Ark.) and Ben Nelson (Neb.) all voted to proceed to the bill, but they pledged not to ballot in favor of final passage if the bill includes a public insurance option. Reid’s case includes such a plan. While Members begin the amendment process to the health protect bill this week, behind-the-scenes talks between Landrieu and Sens. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Tom Carper (D-Del.) on an alternate public option will capture the attention of both moderates and liberals, who strongly buttress having a government-run alternative" (Brady and Bendery, 11/26).
