My House Burnt Down And I Need Insurance Claim Advice?

My firm burnt down (accident) and the cause is unknown...no one was hurt, but the damage is big...

the insurance company appears very unwilling to pay.

any advice is appreciated.

Answer: Fires do take convenience life to investigate...patience is needed. Just save ALL your receipts for any additional living expenses (lodging, apartment)...anytyhing beyond your normal living expenses. Your policy may not coat that. If your house is liveable, you need to take steps to prevent further damage to your home...if there's a joint in your roof, get it covered, etc.

But yeah, you need to be more specific...why are they unwilling to pay? Has it been an unreasonable amount of without surcease?

I Need Some Legal Advice About An Insurance Claim I Submitted To My Car Insurance Agent?

I in actuality have two claims and wondered if I will get reimbursed.
1) $379,431.34 requested reimbursement for repairs to my truck berth. The damage was caused by attacking fighter jets.

2) $665,789.11 requested reimbursement for repairs to my trailer. I claimed the injure was caused by a giant mechanical scorpion, which I can only assume is some amusement-park rag, although I question the wisdom of bringing my mobile home so close to such dangerous apparatus.
Since becoming a Acme Insurance customer in January of this year, I have reported 131 accidents, requesting reimbursement for repairs necessitated by each one. I also have claimed not to be stable in any of them, usually listing the cause of the accident as either "Sneak attack by Decepticons" or "Definite damage caused by protecting freedom for all sentient beings."

Do you of I'll win this time?

Answer: Way to plagiarize someone else's effort. This is from a parody letter from a GEICO agent to Optimus Prime, the Transformer. Puzzling letter, too bad you stole it!

Home Insurance Claim - Advice Please?

Hi. I am making a claim for uncalculated damage caused in my kitchen Basically I had a plumbing accident and the kitchen was flooded destroying my lino flooring and causing A-one damage to kitchen units. My insurer has given me two choices. 1) let their contractor assess and nick the damage, 2) I can appoint my own contractors, forward my insurer quotes and insurer will send me a cheque.

My suspicions about is which option should I go for? Option 1 or 2? I have never claimed on home insurence before.

Thank you

Answer: Either will toil.

However, if you don't have a contractor that you know and trust - might as well let the one on the insurance company list do the work. Why would you think picking some troop's name out of a phone book will get you a better result?

Usually the contractors on the insurance company liber veritatis specialize in this type of work and the insurance company will guarantee these repairs. The insurance company will not guaranty the repairs of a contractor you hire.

These contractors are not employees of the insurance company. They are usually an approved roster. These contractors get on the list by having a good reputation and meeting certain guidelines for supremacy and value. And if their work quality drops -- they get dropped which can mean the injury of a lot of money to them. The contractor's don't want that. The insurance company is like any other consumer -- they dearth good quality work at a fair price.

Advice To Win Insurance Claim For Auto Accident. The Other Driver Was Cited For Driving At Unsafe Speed?

my girlfriend was in an accessory, the other driver was cited as driving at unsafe speeds in 25mph zone based on 65 feet of skid marks and a confirm statement to police. my girlfriend was pulling out of a alley (right hand cool off) and he came up over the hill down towards her. Once he saw her, he slammed on his breaks, skidded into her. cops estimated he was doing 80. My son and girlfriend both injured. He is fighting the citation and his insurance denying boob. I took pics of car, son injuries and accident scene. any advice

Answer: Snag insurance covers only the last point, while comprehensive insurance covers all three. Even comprehensive insurance, however, doesn't fully refuge the risk associated with purchasing a new car. Due to the sharp decline in value immediately following foothold, there is generally a period in which the remaining car payments exceed the compensation the insurer will pay for a "totaled" (destroyed, or written-off) means. So-called GAP insurance was established in the early 1980's to provide protection to consumers based upon purchasing and peddle trends. The escalating price of cars, extended term auto loans, and the increasing esteem of leasing gave birth to GAP protection. GAP waivers provide protection for consumers when a "gap" exists between the tangible value of their vehicle and the amount of money owed to the bank or leasing company. In some countries including New Zealand and Australia vend structures mean that people are more likely to purchase a nearly new car than a new car so this is less of a problem.

Insurance Claim Need Advice?

On the 11th Stride I was travelling and the airline lost my baggage. I was insured. The airline has asked me to send all details and the items gone plus their value. My question is do I claim my belongings from my insurance company or my airline - who's no doubt to give me a better deal? and who is going to be better at dealing with the claim?

Answer: You will get more take from the insurers, but travel insurers will not look at your claim unless you have already notified the airline of the wastage and preferably obtained a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).

The reason is the airline will pay you a set amount by power up to a maximum of 20KG (being the maximum baggage allowance) so you'll get around £500, whereas most travel insurance policies have a limit of £1 - £2,000 for hopeless baggage, though they will assess it on an indemnity basis - ie what each item is actually worth after sport & tear.

It is usually a condition that you have reported it to the airline within the specified time limits as the insurers will then mend the airline's maximum against what they have paid out. They will also not usually pay until the airline has declared it as irretrievably forgotten, ie they have finished their search process, and this could be about a month. The insurers won't pay out until it is unlikely that the bag will turn up!

As you have notified the airline I would intimate claiming against the insurer & sending all the paperwork from the airline to the insurer so they can pursue the delivery against the airline if they want. The insurer will still want a list of the lost items & values & to all intents evidence of the value (eg receipts, bank or credit card statements etc showing the purchase), so you will have to take care of this information either way.

Hope this helps.

Insurance Claim...need Advice!?

My garage was recently not working into and burglarized. The vandals broke the garage door and door track. They destroyed the garage door opener but were unfit to remove it. they removed partial aluminum siding from the back of the garage, and broke a few windows. Also, damaged the aluminum siding on the front of the garage, but it was not removed.

Now the insurance following is paying a contractor to repair the garage door, garage door trail, garage door opener and replace all the aluminum siding on the garage.

But, the insurance entourage is also paying the contractor to remove the remaining aluminum siding and the rest of the damaged items.

MY Query: Can I remove all of the siding, scrap, ect myself? I have a truck, and it would be no problem for me to do this myself. I don't want to pay the contractor any more than I have to, conspicuously if I can do it myself. And If I remove the scrap, they can't and shouldn't charge me for it, should they? it should be removed from my bill right?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated! Acknowledge gratitude You

Answer: You can off it yourself, but when the insurance buys the new stuff, they get ownership of the old stuff - to sell for scrap.

You are entitled to be paid for your labor, righteous like the contractor would have been.

Do You Have Good Advice On Fighting/overturning A Health Insurance Claim That Has Been Turned Down?

My ball and I were turned down for coverage following a procedure that was not considered to be done for a life-saving vindication. However, not doing the procedure WOULD have had major implications resulting in a more invasive surgery with future ones to follow. This description is somewhat vague, but it is also personal.
Thank you.

Answer: Have the doctor dash off a letter. This has greatly helped me in the past. If this fails, you can always contact the Insurance Commissioner...they Definitely hate to hear from them and it usually gets resolved.

Advice Re Invalid Insurance Claim?

Recently a Halogen brilliant bulb exploded in my dining room. It sounded like a gun going off and the whole live was showered in red hot shards of glass. On cleaning up - I found that the dining table and carpet were were covered by burn/burn marks - approx 30. I have tried to claim on my contents insurance but they have said that the procedure wont cover it as there was no actual fire. The policy says we are covered for fire smoke and clap. I would welcome any advice

Answer: I would go "up the ladder" on this because the in point of fact that there are scorches and or burns indicates that a fire occurred. How else do you get a burn mark on the carpet or dining leeway table if not by fire?

You state that you made a claim on your "contents insurance". If that means you have renters insurance you should have coverage for the dining tabulation however your policy may not include the carpeting as that would not be considered contents.

That being said, if only your dining mesa is covered it may not be worth putting in a claim.

Advice About Filing A Household Insurance Claim For Car Break In

Last week we received a call at cock crow in the morning from my husband's corporate card stating that they suspected fraud. At that period my husband noticed his wallet was not in the house and he figured he must of dropped it somewhere. Well, a couple days later I was looking for a few items that I differentiate were in my car and they are missing. I then start to really look and find that several items are gone - Passport, CDs, iPod, Clangour Cancelling Headphones, my watch, sunglasses, my son's perscription glasses, etc. (I know we are thick for having this in the various compartments in my car, none were out in the open)...However, we filed a police dispatch and find out that we are 8th person in our neighborhood to report a break in. I called my insurance company and was told that it would be covered under our household method but then was told that they had a lot of limits on the $ amount for specific equipment (electronics, household paperwork like my passport). I have gone through my game plan and no where can I find these limits. Is this pretty typical? Please, if you have any advice we would appreciate it. It has been an awful week dealing with shutting down praise cards, etc. we don't want another headache....

Answer: Every homeowners system except one, that I've ever seen, has had "special limits of coverage". Tear off your policy, go to Property, Section I perils insured against, Coverage C, personal effects, Special Limits of Liability: $200 cash, $1,000 securities, $1,000 for watercraft & trailers, $1,000 for jewelry & watches (demise by theft), $1,000 for electronic apparatus. Many policies limit the coverage for cd's to $100 or $250.

Paperwork isn't covered for "expense to replace", but "value of the media" or blank writing-paper. Electronics that are powered by your car, ONLY, are likely flat out excluded.

And of course, this is all subject to your holdings deductible. I know, bad news, on top of being violated. Just what you need.
