Do Insurance Companies Cross Data Their Records, To Keep False Claims? |
Dec 12, 2006 by taochiespirt | Posted in Insurance
Do insurance companies cancel data their records, to prevent other people from collecting on a death policy of someone they don't even know. For exemplification I would like all insurance companies to know that I only have two Life Policy on my that I am aware of and that I think should be paid out. Well-founded in case someone tries to get a policy in my name and collect off my death. Do you think this is a good morals is not already done and do you think it violates privancy rights?
There is no "Jingoistic Fraud Bureau" for life insurance (the previous answerer refers to the NICB, which is for P&C only). Report insurance commissioners investigate suspected insurance fraud through their insurance fraud units.
If you have cause to allow someone has taken a policy out on your life and seeks to collect due to your death, the best subject to do is tell a family member, or (in severe cases) the insurance fraud division at your hold's insurance commission. They will investigate.
You can also contact the Medical Information Bureau, to see if any medical poop was reported when these suspected policies were applied for: http://www.mib.com/html/request_your_rec ord.html
I want this helps.

How Does The Medical Insurance Bureau Go About Collecting Medcal Data? |
Sep 30, 2008 by The Shoe In Your Face | Posted in Insurance
aside from the tidings provided by the claims filed on a person's insurance.
Do they solicit information at random or do some fair of data mining to find about about people?
When an attentiveness stick-to-it-iveness is made to an MIB Member company, any information that is of significance to health or longevity (whether admitted on the industry or discovered during the underwriting process) is sent to MIB by the Member company.
Coded poop identifies medical conditions or medical tests that are reported by MIB Members to MIB under plain categories. There are also a few codes that are non-medical. Those codes report potentially hazardous avocations or hobbies, or results of a motor agency report showing a poor driving history. MIB has no actual “reports” or “medical records” on file, only the coded “carry on” provided by the Member.
As part of the underwriting process, an applicant provides message to the Member company and in addition, the insurance company may obtain your medical records along with other underwriting requirements. Any facts that has significance in the underwriting process may be reported to MIB.

Insurance Claim Problems (Homework)? |

I'm muddle-headed! Please help.
If a company sells 100,000 policies, what is the expected profit or trouncing debits?
An insurance policy sells for $1000 . Based on past data, an average of 1 in 100 action holders will file a $20,000 claim, an average of 1 in 200 policyholders will file a $50,000 claim, and an as a rule of 1 in 500 policy holders will file a $100,000 claim.
The ins. co. sold 100,000 policies at $1,000 per, so that's $100,000,000 in premiums/revenues.
1 in 100 (1%) of those policies will make a $20k payout. 1% of 100,000 is 1,000 claims x $20k per = $20,000,000.
1 in 200 (0.5%) of those policies will be missing a $50k payout. 0.5% of 100,000 is 500 claims x $50k per = $25,000,000.
1 in 500 (0.2%) of those policies will instruct a $100k payment. 0.2% of 100,000 is 200 claims x $100,000 per = $20,000,000.
Downright claims paid = $20 mil + $25 mil + $20 mil = $65 mil. So, the insurance company should profit $35 million on the policies.

Computer Insurance Claim? |
Oct 23, 2007 by emilydurber | Posted in Other - Computers
I HAVE MADE AN INSURANCE CLAIM AFTER DAMAGING MY COMPUTER ON 10TH OCT & THE INSURANCE CO ARE SAYING THAT I Toughened MY COMPUTER REGULARY IN WINDOWS UP UNTIL IT WENT AWAY WITH THE COURIERS ON 15TH OCT. I KNOW FULLY WELL I DIDNT AS THE COMPUTER WAS De facto DAMAGED I JUST PUT IT TO ONE SIDE AND WAITED FOR IT TO BE COLLECTED.
THEY HAVE EXTRACTED DATA FROM THE HARDDRIVE BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH RECORDS ABOUT WHAT HAS BEEN Acclimatized ON THIS COMPUTER. IS IT AGAINST THE LAW TO KEEP DATA EXTRACTED FROM MY COMPUTER AS I WANT TO KNOW WHO HAS BEEN USING IT AS I KNOW I CERTAINTLY WASNT SO BECAUSE OF THIS THEY WILL NOT One's addresses to THE CLAIM.
Make a note to them, heading your letter "complaint". This will mean someone else has to look at it. Clear up what has happened and state that it is a legitimate claim and that their refusal to accept the claim is arbitrary and unfair. Also conditions that you wouldn't have arranged a policy with them had you known at the time that this type of claim would be refused.
There are 2 possibilities. The claims hang on will back down or the complaints department will tell you to get stuffed. If they turn down your complaint, they have to send you an insurance ombudsman develop and you should complete this and send it off to the ombudsman. This will take ages - but the ombudsman does not like insurance companies that take your kale then run a mile if you dare to ask for some back.

I Need To Write A Short Story Personifying The Life Cycle Of An Insurance Claim? |
Oct 04, 2008 by Amby | Posted in Homework Help
For my Condition Insurance Coding class, my teacher has given us an assignment to create a short narrative personifying the 10 steps to the life cycle of an insurance claim. I'm usually pretty cogent with writing, but I have absolutely no idea where to start. Any input? Here are the 10 steps according to my professor:
1. Become infected with Negotiation between the patient and the insurance company / the healthcare provider accepts the assignment.
2. Stoical appointment scheduled / pre-registration
3. Patient completes registration and chart is started.
4. Worship army rendered
5. Data entered/charges entered in software from encounter forms. Copay is unperturbed.
6. Print claim or submit electronically.
7. Electronic claims go to clearinghouse or printed claims go via postal send.
8. Insurance company receives claim and adjudicates.
9. Provider receives a remittance, patient receives analysis of benefits
10. If claim is paid, provider posts to account. If rejected, provider can attract.
I also have to remember these steps in order for a test that I have on Monday. Any advice towards that will be helpful as well.
Thanks!
Thanks for all the view so far! I really like the CIA idea. I'm trying to figure out how to write that as the whole story. :)
Michigan auto insurance reform all talk, no action
30.11.09
Michigan motorists will always pay more for auto insurance as lengthy as the law allows the Michigan Catastrophic Claims. This sur tax is added by a group of insurers caucus in secret with no public oversight. It is simply sick and wrong. There is no data that suggests a correlation between solvency scores and auto insurance claims. The auto insurers simply use it as a device to keep rates anticyclone and inflate their profits. None of this will change until the legislature rids itself of control by the insuarance exert influence.
