Is There A Time Limit In Reporting An Insurance Claim By Law Toyour Insurer??

Is there a unambiguous time limit to which you need to obide to when reporting a Stolen Van claim to your insurer, by law??

The protocol states that you need to report this as soon as responsibly possible. In general, there is no set moment frame. However, courts have held that if your delay in reporting this causes the insurance company harm by not being proficient to properly investigate the claim, they can deny coverage. And the longer you wait to report it without a reliable reason, the more likely the company will suspect fraud.

Motor Vehicle Insurance Claim Under Indian Law?

My also pen-friend recently i.e., about 3 months, bought a TATA Indica 2005 model car twinkling hand. He got the registration transfered into his his name but did not intimate the change of ownership to the Insurance company. Today the car that was kept under thached discharge reduced to metal skeleton due to fire accident. My question is since the insurance policy as on today is still motionless in the name of previous owner... will non-intimation of change of ownership affect my friends unintentionally of claiming insurance? are there any decided case laws on this aspect? Pls. Help with advices.
hi favourite Mr. unknown what you say is true only in case of third party liability not to own damages - in my friends case the party refused to cover damages for the non-compliance of intimation of change of ownership.

whoever holds the headline of the car is the owner of the car. The insurance should be changed to the owner's name. Once a car is sold to another person insurance under the previous owner stops (even if they never report their insurance company).

In Response To My Question "Is There A Time Limit In Reporting An Insurance Claim By Law Toyour Insurer?? "

As a few of you are baffled as to what I have ask here is a shed weight longer explaination:-

I did report it to the police and my broker on the day.
My broker gave me the claim inumber for my insurers who I called even away. They told me they could not speak to me as this was a "Broker bought policy".
I called my dealer to tell them what they said. They recorded this on their system - and told me they would pass my details on anyway. To my knowledge I intellect this was enough. As in the past I have only ever reported my clams to my broker and they have done te leg work for me.
Upon chasing the claim around 30 days later I find out that my Insurer's have no notation of my report from my broker:-Even so that do they made me an offer of £8000 Which I declined as my van was worth £10000. Only then did they pick out to decline my claim saying "I" was late to report it to them. Does this pull down it any clearer??
Now my brokers deny saying to me that they would pass this information on. And my Insurers turn down receiving any contact from my brokers even though my brokers have on record them requesting someone from my insurance to call me - which they never did.

seven day's springs to haul, but can't be quoted on that, try a solicitor....

How Long Do Insurance Companies Have, By Law, To Close Claims After They Receive Your Claim Documents?

I was recently told that insurance companies had only 2 weeks to approaching claims once they recieved your itemized claim papers. If it takes them over 2 weeks to close the claim they are obliged to notify you in writing that it is taking longer than expected. I was just wondering if this is upright for all insurance companies, specific fields or at the companies liberty to say.

I have had claims in both NJ and NY one on a council fire another in an oil tank break, and in both cases it took three months. They were different companies. A sustenance insurance company can take up to six months, from what I've heard. A health insurance claim can take years. The fastest is auto, I never had more than a two week bide one's time, if that, before it was taken care of.
If there is a law protecting consumers from insurance companies delaying tactics, I've never heard of it. The Official Insurance Commission is supposed to prod them when it gets necessary, but that takes months and paperwork that must be done scan carefully so you don't miss deadlines and provide all the information. Not always easy when your computer and your info has burned up.

Is There A Law Against Doctors Who Bill For Their Services Before They Put In The Insurance Claim?

I dont construe your question. do you mean you are receiving a bill before your insurnace has paid? if so, that is common with most billing systems being automated, a bill is generated whether insurance has paid or not. if you close-fisted your insurance has not been billed at all, check with the office and make sure they have your correct insurance information. People often put that the physician office is aware of insurance changes, when often they are not. even if it something like the mailing address for claims changes, your dr may not be conscious. It could also be that your group number or id number has changed, causing your insurance to "kick out" the claim.

bottom pen-mark, it is the patients responsibility to make sure the insurance is billed, not the doctor's. (many people do not return this)

good luck and hope this helps!

After An Accident Do You Have To File An Insurance Claim With Both Companies?

Is it of the essence or required by law that a claim needs to be filed for both insurance policies.

You should despatch all accidents to your insurance company. Even if you think you are not at fault, the other guy may try to pursue a claim against your policy. Your insurance company would beyond consideration you as to why you did not report the loss. An early investigation into the details of the accident is critical should the other guy try to storm a claim against you. Just because they make a claim does not mean your insurance company will pay anything.

You can make a direct claim against the other living soul's liability coverage if you so chose. There is no law which governs claims reporting by a third party.

It seems that the only counteractant if an insurance claim in Ontario cannot be resolved is to take the issue to court. The average driver may not be aware of any legislation that may soldiers insurance companies to meet certain deadlines.

Each insurance South African private limited company has their own method and time frame of responding to claims.

However, they cannot be less than the standards of the State's authorized statutes the policy was sold in.

Most states have their insurance legal statutes available online in which you will privation to look in the chapter for Insurance. If you are overwhelmed by determining the guidelines, your agent listed on your ways should be more than aware what are the rules and regulations.

Most State's allow claims adjustments to be appealable if their is a strife between policy holder and insurance company. Although, there are specific processes for it and again, referring back to that State's forensic guidelines would be needed
