That's unequivocally what an insurance adjuster does.

We investigate the claim - determine what coverage applies - write the guesstimate for damage and if appropriate - pay you.

Insurance Claim? Loss Adjusters?

I recently made an insurance claim for £8000 for jewelry that was stolen from me during a alley robbery.

Its over 4 months since i made the claim and am being told that the loss adjusters are still making investigations. Is there any time limit, set by law, in which the insurers are alleged to give me a decision of my claim or can this kind of thing drag on for years?

Thanks for your help.

hi,

no there is no while limit in which the claim has to be settled. the loss adjusters are probably looking into it as it is a very high value claim and they have to get valuations etc. for the precious stones and get the insurance company to OK the costs.

if you are not happy with the length of time it is taking, keep chasing. if nothing happens readily at some time then make a complaint to them. i know it can take a long time, but they will have their reasons as to why it is taking so large.

Can I File An Insurance Claim On My Renters Insurance Policy For A Loss That Happend 2 Years Ago?

I had a stealing that is covered under my renters insurance policy, but it was almost two years ago and want to know if I can still file that claim?

You're current to have a really hard time getting that paid.

If you filed a police communication at the time, you sure can try to file the claim. If you didn't file the police report, then there was no larceny, legally, and the insurance won't pay.

Yes, they can salvation your vehicle. However, you can buy it back. The claims rep will deduct the salvage value from the settlement. If the ACV is $1000 and the redeem value is $200, you get $800 if you choose to keep the vehicle.

How Much I Get From Insurance For A Total Loss Claim??

I bought a tractor-sundries vehicle for $37K. I still owe $24K... If this vehicle is declared total loss after an extra...How much I will get??

The actual value?? The original amount I paid for?? The amount I still owe???

Im asking because if I paid $37K originallly and the contemporaneous value of my vehicle is about $24K, which is the amount I still owe... What I will get at the end?? I mean, if I get $24K from insurance, I will need to pay off the amount I still owe, and at the end I will have NO Communication and NO MONEY..

So... Insurance pay the price I initially negotiated with the delearship it was purchased?? I moral bought it a year ago.

It charming much depends on the insurance you have and it's something your going to have to talk through with your insurance agent. When i had my last accident they declared my Blazer a come to loss and only gave me blue-book which of course wasn't even close to enough to cover a replacement. Most talented of luck .

How Do Loss Claims Affect Insurance Rates?

How do you be sure when you should file a loss claim on your homeowners policy versus just eating it? Are there any rules of thumb? A confederate had his laptop stolen out of my car ($2,800). What will happen to my insurance premium if I file the claim on my homeowner's approach? Not sure what to do....

The conquer person to answer this question is your agent.

That said, claims histories do select premiums but exactly how varies from insurer to insurer. Insurance is a competitive business so what one insurance followers may consider a high risk, another may not. Do note that insurance exists to cover the risk of catastrophic loss - loss on an array of magnitude that an individual would not be able to handle on their own. (Such as if your house burned to the prepare.) Small claims are extraordinarily expensive and time consuming to insurance companies. Such claims exhaust an adjuster's time, the insurance company's resources and a small payout. Small payout, yes, but these claims are many times more everyday than major claims. So many that insurance companies generally set up departments that handle only small claims.

This is why making a shallow claim could result in higher premium or a cancellation upon renewal. Insurance companies compete to get and take on better insureds, meaning the ones who do not make such small claims and who breathe in areas and circumstances that are less likely to result in claims. Having a portfolio of trade that includes a higher percentage of such insureds makes an insurer more profitable, which in saunter makes them more competitive in the market place (meaning able to offer cut prices).

In your particular case, consider your own history. Do you have a history of frequently making lesser claims? Are you in a high risk area? You did pay for insurance so you should use it when you need it. Just note that retaining costs is one of the first-class ways to get lower premium rates. Retention can be accomplished by not making a claim or captivating a higher deductible.

Loss Of Use Vs. Loss Of Income When It Comes To An Insurance Claim?

I am still dealing with my advocate and adjuster concerning a fire I had at my business. The adjuster explained that I would have no loss of income since the company was event a slight loss, but he didn't mention anything about my loss of use.

Is there a difference between loss of income and loss of use, and how would I document such a thing?

You have be stricken through before for me, hopefully you'll do it again!

Loss of use is typically a homeowners coverage. It puts you up in a caravanserai until your house is fixed enough to be livable.

Loss of income - even if you're OPERATING at a loss, you still have expenses for operating - so it SHOULD still be relevant, even if the income isn't enough to cover your expenses.

The third coverage, or second that businesses have, is called Again EXPENSE. It would be, extra costs you incur to either 1. maintain your business at a fleeting location or 2. expedite the re-opening of your business. You know, rush vessel the replacement stock, etc.

If your modify damage was a "sudden event" and not the result of a slow give away the game, the damage could be claimed as a loss. However, the IRS has added a few rules. First you subtract $100 from the loss, your's is now $750. Then you take away from 10% of your adjusted gross income.
