Doctor's Office Trying To File An Insurance Claim 18 Months After The Procedure, What Are My Options? |
Mar 31, 2009 by W | Posted in Insurance
I received a inform from my former health insurance carrier that a doctor's office is trying to file a claim on an outpatient procedure that was performed 18 months ago. I have not received any bill , or communication from this doctor via mail or otherwise. The first I heard of these charges was from the insurance carrier letter where the provider was appealing the sink of payment (due to late filing). I paid all other bills due within 2 months after the procedure and was told from the convalescent home that everything was paid in full.
This all sounds very fishy to me especially after I was assured that all charges were paid. I looked at the provider's website and don't even allow the doctor. Anyone have any suggestions?
if you have a arrange through your employer, contact your benefit rep with all the info. you do not owe another cent.
if a personal plan, reach the insurance company.

Is This Standard Procedure In A Home Insurance Claim? |
Apr 18, 2009 by Nopenope | Posted in Insurance
unfortunately, my enterprise was broken into last december. i made a police report, and contacted my insurance company to file a claim. they asked for me to procure a list of the items that were stolen. i did and submitted it to them. they asked for me to send the list to the policemen department so the lists would match. i did. they asked for a recorded statement, i agreed. an insurance vehicle came to my home and they took both my statement and my wife's statement. they asked to get a vertical of loss form filled out and returned to them notarized, that was done promptly as well. now they contacted me once again saying that they Demand another statement from my wife and i but this time with their lawyers present. the amount of time they have been taking to "look into" my claim has been bothering me, and it seems like they're doing everything possible to delay paying the claim. do i HAVE to give another recorded utterance in the presence of their attorneys as they stated? i just want this to end, it has been almost five months already and i want to put this behind me.
Yes, all of these things are allowed under your custom.
The insurance company has requested an Examination Under Oath. According to your policy, the insurance company has the right away to request the EUO - and the Proof of Loss and itemization of your damages.
One thing you did not tell us....how heavy-set a claim are you filing?
If your claim is legit - you really did have a theft and you have not lied about or inflated the value of your claim -you should be top-drawer.
If, however, your claim is not legit or you have lied about what was taken or have inflated the value of the items taken.....you may prerequisite to consider with drawing your claim.
With the economy the way it is - there has been a sharp increase in fraudulent theft claims being filed. Something about your claim, got their prominence and they are going to do a detailed investigation into it. Again - if it is legit and you have in no way lied or inflated your claim - things should labour out and you can thank all the bums who commit insurance fraud for the hoops you are having to jump through. If your claim is charged....consider withdrawing your claim.
** not legal advice - only an attorney can give legal par.

Does Anyone Know The Procedure For Submitting Property Title Insurance Claims? |
Sep 26, 2007 by Here4u | Posted in Insurance
The majestic of Boston requires that sellers and purchasers pay for attorney review of real social status sales documents. On top of this consumers must also pay title companies and purchase title insurance. This drastically increases the price to consumers and does little to protect consumer’s interests.
I paid an attorney $1,000.00 (one-thousand dollars) to evaluate documents, including title documents. Additionally, I paid $1, 200.00 for nickname insurance.
I later learned that there were unpaid water charges due to the City of Boston that totaled around $600.00 and unpaid real-estate taxes totaling nearly $2,000.00.
I never received a ape of my title insurance policy and the attorney has failed to return multiple telephone calls.
Does anyone understand how I can go about putting in a claim? Are there time frames for submitting claims? Who is liable, the attorney, the documentation of ownership company?
Boston, and the hit the hay of Massachusetts is kind of a funny third world country with their rules, regulations, requirements and procedures (yeah I grew up there).
Anyway, where I'm from NOW, invalid and back taxes are not something that is cleared up by a title insurance policy. Until recently, if you purchased property in Columbus OH, and the previous owner had an outstanding water bill, you were on the hook until it was paid. You didn't have to pay it, they just wouldn't loop on your water. City council changed that rule a few years ago.
Payment of back taxes should have been outlined in your legal estate purchase agreement. Since $2000 is about 15 minutes worth of honest estate tax in Boston, I'm guessing you've had to pay up from the time the last tax payment was made by the prior owner. Any Realtor with dry ink on her accredit knows to put that in the contract; since I don't hear you complaining about a Realtor, I'm guessing there wasn't one.
So, unless the qualify & tax people but a lein on your property, there is no title issue. Don't like the water place? gripe to your councilmen; unhappy with the tax deal? blame the person who wrote your purchasing agreement. And enjoy the new house.

Can An Insurance Company Send A Medical Procedure Approval Letter And After Deny Paying The Claim? |
Nov 09, 2008 by katie-did | Posted in Law & Ethics
How can you ever be traditional that you are truly covered?
Shortened answer, you can't. What you describe is rare, but happens, often when there is updated information between the two.
In the event it happens, in a wink start the appeals process. Sometimes, its a paperwork error. This is what happened to me, I had approval, got the procedure, then got billed. Turned out that a paperwork at fault b mistakenly had me listed as having the procedure 2x in a specific time period, which was not allowed, but as soon as I appealed they decided the error and paid the claim.

Should I Pay A Collection Agency For A Medical Procedure My Insurance Company Claims They/I Don't Have To Pay? |
Oct 19, 2009 by Jim D | Posted in Insurance
Insurance co. issued documentation stating terms of provider's knit do not requirement payment by insurance co. or patient. Provider has hired a collection agency to come even though I sent copy of insurance documentation to provider. What are my options?
No.
What you do, is send a replication of that document to the collection agency, with a letter that you are disputing the debt. KEEP A COPY OF EVERYTHING!~ They should return in writing within 30 days.
