I animate in Canada. My husband recently passed away and my 18 year old son is the beneficiary for human being insurance. My son wants to give me the money. If he does do I have to claim this as income? If my son keeps the money he does not claim it as return does he?

Survival insurance proceeds is tax free to the recipient (your son), and tax free to you if he gives you part of the proceeds.

Question About Doing An Insurance Claim?

Ok so we had a greet storm here and both of my trucks got some damage. So here's my question:
If I do a claim and don't fix the truck with the money can I still keep full coverage on the truck or do I have to fix it to keep the full coverage? Cuz I don't wanna use the greenbacks on the truck cuz it's not that bad but I do want to do the claim.
Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks
btw I live in Texas if that makes a inequality.

is there a lein on the sundries? if so the leinholder will require you to fix it. if not then you can do what you want BUT if you don't fix it and try to claim damage the next time it hails, they will deny the claim.

Question About Insurance Claim That Is Untrue?

Someone claimed that a freind of mine hit their car and drove away. however, she was not in the car that day, and has witnesses to sustain it! Her insurance company said that the other driver of the car had plently of evidence (description and number plate!). We imagine that they saw her car the next day and took down her number plate thinking it was the same style as the one that hit them. Her insurance company sent her a sic saying that they were going to pay out! She is obviously arguing this tooth and nail, as she has 5 years no claim. Have any of you had compare favourably with experiences or any advice?

She has asked her insurears to send someone out to check her car, as it has no damage at all.

um....

How did they get her insurance group information????

Anybody can get a plate and vehicle description from standing on any USA street even at midnight! That doesn't honestly make sense (that the insurance company would say that he had plenty of evidence. That is not evidence to prove she hit them)!

I'd do a LOT more analysis before making any liability determination against your friend. I'd certainly give her the benefit of the doubt.

I'd ask for an inspection of both vehicles (Which I would do myself) and look for paint transfer. Paint transfer happens when two vehicles dash together crash into. If your friend has a maroon car and the other car is blue.....the car that got hit would have maroon paint on it and your friends car would have melancholy paint on it.

Sounds kinda off to me and something does not jive...could be fraud - could be a less than honest deponent - could be your friend made a mistake.

Regardless - If they go on to pay the claim without doing a thorough job? I'd make a report to the be influenced of insurance.

Best o'luck to you & your friend!

~jifr!

Can My Auto Insurance Company Place A Claim On My Record By Simply Calling To Ask A Question?

I was in my boyfriend's communication and backed into our garage door. I called my auto ins. to ask if I needed to make a claim or if he did since it was his business. They said he should, and he did. I recently was getting ins. quotes and found out it is on my record, even though his insurance paid for the damages.

When you support initial information such as name, address, drivers license number, and social guaranty number to an insurance company, the purpose for this information is because they are going to run a dmv check along with a soft accept report check. Upon receipt of the report they have your driving history (well about 6 years of it).

Your fluke when you were driving your boyfriend's truck will appear as the driver of that vehicle, but it will list him as the policyholder (it will also rota how much was paid out in the accident and it should also demonstrate if it was paid through comp- cp or collision- co or medical- m or pi).

So regardless if you were the policyholder, or not you will still be listed as the driver (since you were driving the odds when the accident happened).

Hope that helps....

Insurance Claim?

I am living in Sydney.. i had full inclusive insurance and the insurance company wont pay my claim i wasnt driving and i had cover for other people... Who can i touch to get help besides a solicitor.

Well, you could use directly to the court for a judicial summary of the contractual agreement. In other words, you attitude the court to determine the legitamacy of your claim. It will cost less without an attorney; although, it may come to light that you have judiciary basis for obtaining legal counsel later on.

What you would ask of the court is to review the contractual deal entered into for insurance...provide proof of payment for said coverage; a copy of the blunder report; affidavits signed by those involved directly in the mishap (if possible) attesting to the events that led to your desideratum of filing a claim against your insurance policy... and ask the court to validate the strength of the contract by evaluate and commentary. If the court finds that your contract is valid and your claim is within the parameters of the agreement, they could company prompt payment pending further legal actions as a civil action or if possible criminal action if their order is not honored...it is known as 'contempt of a court lawfulness' if duly issued and served to the company in question.

Good luck to you in your 'pro se' endeavor... it may succour you to attend some court sessions in order to prepare yourself to show proper form and mannerliness toward the judiciary factfinders. Court time is usually paid for in advance so be treated to present all the materials in less than 12 - 15 minutes. It may require additional time to infer from a 'copy' of the insurance claim; however, that may or may not be charged for in lieu of the situation. Depends upon how the judge/s are compensated for their age.

Also, make sure that if you do decide to follow with a formal legal action against the band that you speak with someone of authority (perhaps a college professor at a law school) as to which court to make appositeness. This is often determined by the monetary amount in question. Since the value of the claim is not specified above, I cannot offer a suggestion as to which court to near. It could feasibly be the Chancery court...ask around.

Tax Deduction Question? Can You Claim Water Damages That Insurance Company Didn't Pay As Loss On Income Tax?

I had be unfeasible damage on the ceiling in my kitchen, according to the insurance company's estimate, the damages would rate about 850.00 to repair...my deductible was 1,000. Can I claim the 850.00 that I have to pay for repairs as a Tax Deduction/Erosion on my income tax?

If your bottled water damage was a "sudden event" and not the result of a slow be revealed, the damage could be claimed as a loss. However, the IRS has added a few rules. First you subtract $100 from the diminution, your's is now $750. Then you subtract 10% of your adjusted gross income. If you made more than $7500 , then you would not be capable to deduct any of the loss. There is no $1000 limit for casualty losses.

Question For Claim Adjusters And Insurance Agents?

I am looking for any adjusters or agents who can make out me if a plumbing fixture company has a liability insurance carrier.

We have a product defect claim against Jameco Ecumenical based in NJ. They are not cooperative at all. So I am looking ANY information about them from insurance professionals who have dealt with them. I'm looking mostly for the insurance drayman info, but will take any info regarding how any claims were settled with them. Also, would like to know if adjusters have had files where they had to sue Jameco and if so what report was the suit filed in.

Thank you for any help that you can provide it is much appreciated.

The only way to find out who their insurance house is would be to either ask them or file suit against them.

There is no magic list out there that tells who is insured with what company.

Knowledge on past claims that have been settled with them is confidential so I don't know of any adjusters that are going to give you that poop.

Auto Insurance Claim Question?

I electrified in CA. If i get rear-ended (I'm not at fault) but i did not carry auto insurance at the time, but the faulting social gathering did have insurance. How does that affect my claims on medical injuries, loss of car use, settlement, etc? basically does it promulgate a difference if i have insurance or not if i am not at fault? I hired a lawyer because ididn't know how to deal with the post at the time. Just wondering if the lawyer was honest. Please answer only if you are certain. Tender thanks you for your time.

In California, if you do not have insurance, you are not entitled to together "general damages" as part of an injury claim. This includes pain and agony, and any cash settlement you might expect to get if you're not at fault and injured in an accident.

You are able to amass "special damages", which are tangible costs you have incurred as a issue of any medical treatment, missed work, etc.

The damage to your vehicle and loss of use should be covered as well. This is a cute recent change in the way insurance claims are handled in California, and it's sort of a less severe punitory law than you have in "no-pay, no-play" states like Louisiana, in which you cannot collect ANY on Easy Street if you don't have insurance.

How Long Can You Wait To File An Insurance Claim On Your Home After The Damage Has Occured?

I am wanting to cognizant of how much time one has to file an insurance claim after damage has occured. For instance, your house gets hit by a tornado but your in a coma and dont appear c rise out until a year later. This is not my case. Just trying to make question clear. Is there a outdated limit on how long you have to file an insurance claim after damage occurs?

There's no "set in stone" mostly. Theoretically, you can file a claim five years after the incident. THERE IS NO LEGAL TIME LIMIT. Well, that's on a homeowners rule. For liability policies and med malpractice, it's different.

The problem is, the longer you wait, the harder it is to demonstrate the damage was from the claimed incident, and unless you're just coming out of a coma, you exigency a pretty darned good explanation.

Real life example: I had a customer put in a claim for missing scheduled silver, a year and a half after they moved - claiming it was missing in haulage from the move. She hadn't done a complete inventory, and when she finally got around to it, discovered the missing silver. The claim was paid ($6,000 inefficiently).

Insurance Claim Question?

I turned a claim in honest after Ike in the middle of September, the insurance adjuster already came by 2 months ago but yet still my insurance company has not put anything together yet.
My question is by law do they have a certain amount of moment to take care of a customer's claim or can they take however long they want?
I know I should be talking to a lawyer but it's the weekend liberty now.
300,000 claims divided by how many insurance companies though?

There is no law that says they have to have it "put together" in a steady amount of time.

Ike was a big storm. There are thousands of people that have damage/claims from it.

Your insurance company is not sitting around with their thumbs in their ears.....they are slammed.

The Texas windstorm syndicate alone has received over 76,000 claims.
http://www.yourlawyer.com/articles/read/ 15288

It is estimated that Ike will end result in over 300,000 claims.

Do you know how you work 300,000 claims?

One Claim At A Time!

http://www.insurancespecialists.com/advice /texas-insurance-claims-numbers/

Most companies work the hardest hit areas first. The folks who no longer have a household come before the guy with a few shingles blown off.

But with the massive volumes of claims that are coming in, sometimes a claim will disappoint fail in between the cracks. On Monday, call your insurance company and follow up on your claim. Make sure you have your claim number when you call them.

All occupation an attorney will do is bring the process to a screeching halt. It does NOT speed the process up. Not even remotely. But hey......its your pick.

NY Fed Takes Stakes in 2 AIG Units

It also reduces the New York Fed’s risk of not being repaid for its bailout relief because of the continuing troubles at A.I.G. by giving it first claim to the proceeds from the sale of two of the company’s profitable and fundamentally independent businesses.

The remaining $17 billion in principal from the Fed’s original release loan to A.I.G. is secured by the general assets of the company, and other creditors could lay claim to those assets.
