first option
Yes if you have unplanned damage it would be covered.
Just to warn you though when you ring its probably going to inform you that your call is recorded, they will then ask you some details about name address etc.
The calls are possibly being screened by some kind of lie detector to daunt fraud, genuine claimants have nothing to fear.

Declined Travel Insurance Claim (UK)? |
Jun 13, 2007 by Marion-san | Posted in Insurance
I have had my associate insurance claim declined. The insurance company made it clear that it is their final response to the issue and advised if I am still cursed to refer the matter to financial ombudsman service.
I would like to know how utilitarian this might be or whether it would be better to use insurance claim assessors service instead. Possibly, could I forward the matter to both monetary ombudsam and private company for further investigation.
Thank you for all your answers.
Well, you demand to do two things: 1. read the entire policy coverage. 2. Look at the declination on account of, and see if the reason they cite is in agreement with the policy wording.
If the policy only covers cancellations for XYZ reasons, and your grounds is W, then taking further action isn't going to help you AT ALL - it's not in the contract.
If the polciy covers ANY nullification reason except XYZ, and your reason is X, well, ITS EXCLUDED.
Travel insurance, like long term attention coverage, isn't what people think it is when they buy it - you need to know EXACTLY what's covered, for how elongated, and why, BEFORE you hand over the money.

Insurance Claim - UK? |
May 08, 2007 by Feta Smurf | Posted in Law & Ethics
My store's solicitor has brought in a senior barrister to help with an on-going insurance claim.
How will this affect the pay-out?
Why would they discuss in a senior barrister?
Will it lengthen the claim process considerably?
Thanks in advance!
Insurance claims calling on a settlement being made, and then legal fees are added on top.
So having the extra "fire power" won't convert what he gets if he wins

Can Someone Supply A List Of UK Insurance Companies Which Claim You Are Not Insured If You Do Not Have Tax? |
May 27, 2008 by inquisitor | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I can get the drift the need for MOT but have the insurance companies become indirect tax collectors for the government? No just another reason to not pay out!
Absolutely, if there is anything wrong with your vehicle at all, the insurance companies will wriggle out of settling any claim.

Windscreen Claim- Insurance (UK)? |
Sep 13, 2007 by Robbo | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I had my uplift windscreen broke by some kids throwing stones! My insurer elephant, says it is covered but i had to pay an redundancy. Is this classed as a full claim, ie if i were to renew my insurance elsewhere would have had to but this down in the claims section.
Thanks in advance
Windscreen claims are in the main covered by Comp. insurance and often carry an excess. It should not affect your No Claims Discount in any way. Chip your policy document for confirmation.

USPS Failed To Deliver A Parcel To My UK Address (60 Days Wait). How Long Does It Take For The Insurance Claim? |
Jun 15, 2008 by mofonyx | Posted in Insurance
I have been waiting for a case from the US sent via USPS to my UK address. It has already been 60 days and the sender can file the mention as 'lost'. I would like to know if anyone has had the misfortune of a missing parcel and how long does it take for insurance claims to be processed and the refund to be made?
Appreciation you.
With intercontinental deliveries, it can take four weeks once the claim gets processed.
The sender has to file the claim, and they can only collect IF they bought insurance. And I suppose you have to send global priority, and they will check with customs to see if the package entered the UK.

If UK Tourists Abroad Make An Unbelievable Insurance Claim, Isn't It Up To The UK Insurance Co To Decide And? |

proceed with the matter when they submit the claim, not the police in the country to whom they make the report
That part is still to recuperate from, however as already stated they were charged and convicted of wasting Police time and making a meretricious claims, two offenses are unacceptable in all countries.
I still think they were lucky to get away with well-grounded community service,

Insurance Claim When Its Not My Fault ! How Do I Claim ? ( UK)? |
Aug 04, 2007 by Londoner | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Hi All,
I have only been hit by a police car by accident, I have spoken to them and they have prodived my with the details of thier insurers etc.
Here are my questions ?
Is it take that I can just report it to my insurer and ny insurer will chase up with the other parties insurers ?
Also, although the mutilate isnt much, It would proobabl cost around a quater of the cost of the car to repair it ?
I would like to have knowledge of if the decision to write the car off will be made by my insurance company or I can inform my insurance company that I no longer want the car and would propose to be paid off.
Also, I have a 3rd party insurance, how does this affect me ?
I look forward to receiving healthy answers !
1.) It is occur you can just call your insurance company and give them the details of the other party and they will take care of you.
2.) It is up to the insurance adjuster if the car will be written off or repaired. You do not have the alternative if the car is deemed repairable then it has to be fixed. If the insurance company decides the car is a write off then they will pay you an average value for this mechanism based on the blue book or black book value based on it's entire condition prior to the accident.
3.) Mileage is a factor, condition of the undamaged disperse is an indicator of how well the car was maintained and will effect the overall settlement if it is written off.
4.) Having third celebration insurance makes no difference you didn't cause the accident and it should not effect your driving memorandum or future insurance rates.

UK Home Contents Insurance Claim - Digital Camera? |
Jun 07, 2007 by weez9016 | Posted in Insurance
Has anyone succesfully claimed against their Home contents insurance for a Digital Camera? I have unwitting damage & personal possessions insurance, but would like to know if anyone has succesfully claimed and what had happened to the camera?!
Thanks
Most Contents Insurance have an unlucky damage section - and this often includes items up to some value outside the house.
Unfortunately, chances are you will have an 'dissoluteness' of at least £100 (i.e. £100 is deducted from each claim) ... not a problem if you have been flooded out and are claiming 1,000's benefit of TV, DVD Sky Home Cinema equipment (plus carpets etc.) .. but if you are claiming for a £250 Digital Camera you will only get £150 .. and most Policies will count some sort of 'no claims' discount - so your premium might well go up by more than £100 in a year ..

How Long Does A Car Insurance No Claim Bonus Usually Last In The UK? |
Sep 19, 2008 by Limpopo | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I sorry of course after the car has been sold.
It goes on you the driver rather than the car.
After three years of not driving (with some companies it's 2 years), you worsted your NCB.
This happened to me during uni - didn't drive for three years as I couldn't afford it. I lost all my NCB and had to start again from 0. Boooo!
