How Do I File An Insurance Fraud Claim In Texas? |
Aug 30, 2006 by Steph W | Posted in Insurance
Attorneys old lady was in a nursing home for 8 years brain dead with Alzeimers. Also he had a mentally retarded relation whom he took care of (State of Texas paid also) and he took out a policy. Amounts mysterious. If he took out "too much", is this insurance fraud?
It doesn't robust like he's hastening their death and he may have insured them to recover costs for their care. Nursing nurse b like is very expensive, even with state or Medicaid help. It is up to the insurance companies to decide if ways limits are appropriate and they usually make that determination before issuing the policy.
Fraud would only be the wrapper if he LIED about something on the application, and I think that even there, there is a statutory time limit on how long the insurance associates has to find out and void the policy.
As long as he didn't lie about the health of the insured, or his right to an insurable interest (his pronto to be the owner of the policy), he hasn't committed fraud. As son and brother of the insured, he would have adequate insurable interest.

Insurance Fraud? |

Is it considered insurance fraud if someone files a car insurance claim and uses the gelt for something other than fixing the car?
I don't plan on doing it. I've just heard other people talk about it and started wondering.
those who are saying no: do you be versed for a fact? I know they don't want you using the money for other things, just wanna be aware for sure
it is not outlawed to put in a legitimate claim and receive a check for the damage amount. The choice to repair the car is up to you, you may keep the money, its called compensation. It is however forbidden to receive a full payout and then repair the car for less at the same or a different repair shop. The insurance company would be return of the unused funds. This proses of keeping the surplus funding is called betterment. It is about the same as collecting twice for the same fortune. Or for collecting compensation on previous damage. It is difficult, without auditing and diligence, to ascertain sickly or not a person has done this.

How Much Time Is Given For Car Insurance Company To Settle A Claim? |
May 19, 2007 by asad c | Posted in Insurance & Registration
my car was hit in parking lot and insurance is dragging its feet to sift through. how much time is officially allowed for this investigation and what are my rights bacause it has been 30 days today. i have a full insurance on this car and insurance group is investigating as a fraud claim!. insurance from metlife!
Claims being investigated for fraud are under another guidelines than claims that are not being investigated for fraud. and when a claim has been brought into the SIU department that info isn't shared with the child being investigated. But when they are brought into SIU, it's for a darn good reason, whether you're committing fraud or not. By law the insurance has to investigate doubtful claims, whether or not it actually is.
As for what 'cece' recommends, contacting the state...you can do that, that's your option. But once they are wise your claim is being investigated for fraud--you're done.

Ebay Item Insurance Claim Fraud? |
Dec 28, 2008 by Edgar S | Posted in Insurance
i sold an jotting on ebay worth almost $300 that was reported damaged the buyer started by saying that it was my accuse for not package ing it correctly i insured it thru ups now he wants the insurance money ups picked up the item for inspection i ask him to send me some pics i saw them and could carry weight it wasnt the same item i shipped what should i do if ups gives me the insurance money could i keep it and tell the seller that it wasnt the same memorandum that he switched it do i have to give it to him or can i tell ups the buyer is comiting fraud when i told him i was going to have ups ship it back to me so i can study it he started acting more polite and saying it wasnt my fault that i packaged it hellishly well that it was ups's fault can someone help me with this problem
I would know scold him the item he sent pictures of is not the item you sent and that is fraud and you will report him to ups and to Ebay, and then do so if the thing is actually not what you sent. He may just back off as the other person noted. If you are certain it is not the item you sent you should let ups be versed if they are willing to pay the claim. You should not take the money for the item if it is not the item you sent, that is, as noted by others, fraud.

What If Someone Set Up A Break In At Their Home And Claimed Insurance Fraud But Noone Was Caught How Would? |
Mar 03, 2008 by straitdanger | Posted in Law & Ethics
how would supervise prove this was insurance fraud? i know somoene who constantly gets away with this i tried to send in an anonymous call to the patrol department but they said there was nothing they could do without concrete evidence.....how the hell am i suposed to get tangible evidence on someone commiting insurance fraud?
This interrogate got me mad! I've seen people doing things very similar to this. In New Jersey we have people doing it all the notwithstanding with car insurance. And they usually have the money to pay!
I use to have a night job that required me driving around at night and I would see Mercedes',Lexus' and BMW's all the patch parked in driveways in New Jersey for months with license plates from other states. They were committing insurance fraud while I'm working two jobs to pay for my bills including my New Jerey insurance like they should!!
Seems like the priceless can't have enough!
So here's 2 sites for you and anyone else that knows someone doing this.
The first one is for New Jersey, the 2nd one is more along the lines of a general site that can get you more dope depending on where you live.

My dishwasher went out, I called the retirement community protection insurance they sent a person out he said the washer was broken. Insurance band paid out $357. If I choose not to replace the washer is that fraud?
uh...unquestionably. Most policies require you use the funds to repair or replace the damaged appliance. Anything else they will contemplate on fraud
