Household Contents Insurance And Making An Early Claim? |
Question by giseppe b | Posted in Insurance
I had my dwelling-place burgled last night and have had most of my valuable belongings stolen. I am a bit worried about making an insurance claim. The reason for this being that I strictly only took out contents insurance last Friday. So will making a claim so early into the policy have any complications?
I really penury to replace what has been taken but am worried about potentially being investigated for fraud or something due to making a claim so quickly.
| Answer: You will have to important an affidavit, very likely notarized. There will be an investigation, there always is in cases where claims are made right after a game plan is effective. If the time and date of the burglary are confirmed by the police, and you are honest and open with the insurance investigator (likely an independent specialist, not a company employee), your only problem should be the kick into touch caused by the investigation. |

Is It Right For An Insurance Company To Ask For Your Financial Details When Making A Claim? |
Question by searay | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I had a craft stolen recently and am in the middle of making an insurance claim. They have assigned a private investigator to the case and he has asked to see all my banking details. Are they allowed to do this? It's secret information that i would rather not disclose. Thanks in advance.
| Answer: Yes, they have the integrity to do this. It is part of their investigation. They will first determine if you had anything to do with the "theft" of the boat. If you are not involved, then they will increase the investigation. The reason they are doing this is because it wouldn't be the first time someone made their boat disappear to get out from under it. Not saying you are penitent, just pointing out that these are often insurance fraud cases. |

My apartment burnt down, and my insurence means cut me a check for $2000 (for immediate expences). The fire was started by a battery charger. Do I lack a Lawyer for anything? Should I trust my insurance agent? I've never faced anything like this before, and am not sure how to handle it. Itsy-bitsy help?

Is It Worth Making An Insurance Claim For $1,000 Worth Of Damage? |
Question by Dan P | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I have obligation insurance with state farm. A different driver damaged another car with my car. How much will my premium go up if I make the claim. The deductible is 500. also any other counsel concerning insurance welcome. thanks
| Answer: If your means is financed, usually your bank will require that the damage is fixed. If you can afford to pay it out of help oneself to, that would be your better option. Insurance is there for when you need it, not for every little nit-picky issue or for small, fallacious claims. My advice is to pay out of pocket if possible. |

Making An Insurance Claim For A New Tv? |
Question by tappo | Posted in Insurance
Hi i have fitting bought a new tv about a week ago and my father mounted it to the wall unfortunatley it fell off lol, i have assembly insurance with direct line and they state standard insurance against accidental damage to tv's also i purchased fortuitous cover to all contents do you think i will get a new one through my insurance? and what do you think i should tell them i dont want to forsake myself in it and make the claim void thanks
Answer: dont lie - unprejudiced tell the truth, this is exactly what accidental damage cover is for.
I expect Undiplomatic Line may well have approved suppliers for TV's and will probably simply have one delivered to you from their supplier - most insurers do these days as they get mass purchase discounts and thus keep down overall claims costs.
Make sure you have your gate.
Good luck - dont let your dad hang the next one up!!

What Happens If I Want To Make An Insurance Claim But There Was A Gap In Protection On My Policy? |
Question by Bad Luck | Posted in Insurance
I have got comeback that I should report an accident to my insurance company but at that time I wasn't insured. My policy was dele but I just got it reinstated today. The accident was yesterday. Can I still make a claim? Very nervous, stressed and uneasy about this. Please resist Thank you. What are my options.
We decided just to exchange information.
Answer: What does "gap in immunity" mean? Does it mean that your policy was cancelled? If so, you're NOT INSURED.
Steady you can make that claim, but it's going to void the reinstatement, as the reinstatement was conditional upon you not having any losses. So, no coverage for that claim. See sorrowful. |

| Answer: I have a Mammoth hockey card collection and tons of autographs dating back to 1981 and when I inquired about adding them onto my homeowner's insurance I was told not even to perplex because I won't get anything for them. Unless you're talking about Grezty rookie cards or something and you have proof you had them and COAs, etc. |

Can You Make An Insurance Claim Without A Police Report? |
Question by Justin H | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I got into an fortuity the other day on the interstate.. I hit the guy from behind.. I don't think it was my fault since he cut me off.. but I think I am automatically at fault since I hit him... The patrol never came.. he took my information and said he would contact his insurance company.. Can he make a claim against me without a constabulary report?
| Answer: I am a licenced claim rep. Yes, anyone can submit a claim, however, your insurance company has a legal obligation to investigate prior to making a payment. Just because you hit someone from behind does not automatically tight-fisted you are at fault. You say the other person cut you off...If you were traveling in heavy traffic with not much space between you and another vehicle and someone cuts in front of you not leaving you much live and traffic comes to a sudden stop, then the person who cut in front of you leaving you little compartment to stop would be at fault for making an unsafe lane change. Report the claim to your insurance company as soon as and let them know what happened. Your insurance company is their to protect your interest and will only pay a claim to another party if there is irrefutable evidence that you were at offence. If your insurance company denies the other party, the other party's insurance company will pay the claim under the other parties own collision coverage and then they can parade arbitration against your insurance company providing both insurance companies are members of intercompany arbitration. If the other pary does not capture collision coverage under their own insurance coverage then their only recourse is to file in Small Claims Court. If they organize in Small Claims Court, your insurance company will hire an attorney to defend your claim. |
