Standing The Cost Of A Car Crash Vs Motor Insurance Claim? |
Jun 04, 2007 by Wayne H | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My son recently had a motor accessary, we intend to stand the cost of a replacement car (insurance premium would rise a further £2000 for the following year).
Do we have to acquaint the insurance company of the accident and if we do will this have an impact on his insurance considering the we stood the cost and didn't claim?
The contemporary insurance company seem unwilling to answer the question fully and an independant insurance broker was of sparse help too. Please help!
ALWAYS tell the insurance company. They get very tetchy if they find out you haven't. My daughter had a total loss. They paid for betterment (it was burned out) but we didn't claim on our insurance and we didn't loose any no claims

Help On Motor Insurance Claim....? |
Jul 07, 2008 by Dani-Jade | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I had an non-essential a couple of weeks back that wasnt my fault. My car has been seriously damaged by the other dirver, but i still havent had anybody from either insurers out to my car to look at it.
Am i entitled to adjust my car myself and invoice the other drivers insurers, or do i have to wait for somebody to look at my car first?
Any ideas how prolonged an insurance claim takes to sort out?
thanks dj xx
it depends on what Stately you live in. Michigan is a no fault state so your own insurance pays for your damage.
you should call and talk to your insurance spokesman, and find out what the status of your claim is (I am assuming you contacted your insurance company after the accident)?
once you talk to your agent, you should have more answers to this in appendix you may get things moving forward if they are stuck in neutral.

Someone I Know Has Driven Into My Fence, How Can I Get Him To Claim For It On His Motor Insurance? |
Jan 18, 2008 by Polo | Posted in Insurance & Registration
It's a barricade for which I'm responsible and he's offering to get a relative t fix it. I want it done properly by him making a claim and his insurance company paying for it to be done professionaly. How can I boost pretend him do that?
Not bizarre for people to want to pay for repairs, to save the NCB, assuming they have insurance.
As jed slade says give him the moment to make the damage good, on the proviso it`s not a bodged job.

Motor Insurance Claim Against Me.? |
Mar 07, 2009 by yragyrag90 | Posted in Insurance
I was driving to vocation and it had been snowing, I was moving slowly probably only about 20-30mph. I was traveling on a dual carriageway (motorway) and I was in the fast lane/overtaking lane.
I was overtaking a hack traveling slightly slower than my vehicle, both lanes were covered in snow.
I began to admit defeat control of my vehicle and it veered towards the central barrier, I adjusted to compensate and clipped the put up of the taxi.
By the time I hit the taxi I would have slowed to less than 10mph.
We both pulled up and got out. I checked both vehicles for invoice, luckily I had only hit the hub cap and it had been damaged but was still attached to the wheel, there was no damage to my car. We exchanged details and went on our ways.
And that was the last I heard of it. Until now...
I received a spell out detailing the incident which states the taxi driver sustained injuries to the neck and back as a consequence of the collision.
What do I do?
(I don't believe for a second he is injured)
What will this cost me in terms of insurance renewals and anything else? I have about 7 or eight years unsoiled insurance.
How can I help my case?
Should I lie and say he drove into me? Or state anything else? I don't want to do this but he is clearly taking the homiletic.
An additional question.
I actually made a claim when my car was stolen just before Christmas will this affect anything?
ie making my next renewal walloping?
One obsession for certain, worry will not change a thing. Speaking truth is always the best settling, maybe not particlarly changing the end results, but how it effects your self evaluation, something you cannot conceal from, your conscious. Be honest, state the incident as it happened, offer your observation of the gentlemans conditionafter what could be defined as "bumped" into. Insurance companies don't require to pain that claim either, their on your side. The other question, ask your insurance rep, they will give an honest answer . blessings

Motor Vehicle Insurance Claim Under Indian Law? |
Mar 29, 2007 by Taknev | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My boyfriend recently i.e., about 3 months, bought a TATA Indica 2005 model car favour hand. He got the registration transfered into his his name but did not intimate the change of ownership to the Insurance company. Today the car that was kept under thached doff reduced to metal skeleton due to fire accident. My question is since the insurance policy as on today is still level in the name of previous owner... will non-intimation of change of ownership affect my friends occur of claiming insurance? are there any decided case laws on this aspect? Pls. Help with advices.
hi precious Mr. unknown what you say is true only in case of third party liability not to own damages - in my friends come what may the company refused to cover damages for the non-compliance of intimation of change of ownership.
whoever holds the denominate of the car is the owner of the car. The insurance should be changed to the owner's name. Once a car is sold to another person insurance under the previous owner stops (even if they never put their insurance company).

Total Loss In A Motor Insurance Claim: How Do I Calculate Market Value? |
Jul 17, 2009 by Alcie | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My insurers are donation me a low settlement for my car following a non-fault accident. They say that they will not give me more than I paid for the car, even though I made the purchase knowing that I needed to fork out money on the car to make it roadworthy - which I did (c.£800). I can find the Parker's figure for the car, how can I get access to Goggles etc to check what they're playing at?
Thank you.
I should add, they are offering me what I paid for the vehicle, based soley on that interpret because there is a clause in my insurance policy that says "If You bought Your Car at a lower price than would normally be found in UK exchange guides, We will reduce the replacement cost accordingly." The financial ombudsman website suggests this would be a clause they would law to be unfair, as I should be able to REPLACE the vehicle like for like, but they also suggest they would go by Beaker's to establish the fair value. I want to know how to get hold of Glass's guideline plate for my car.
The clause is there in the scheme and you have quoted it. Unfortunately this is what they will give you. No insurance company will cover you for betterment of the car you buy. This is normal and you will have to accept it.
