Lost Cell Verizon Phone - Insurance Claim Must Be Made Within 60 Days?

I purchased insurance ($5/month) when I purchased a chamber for my daughter. The phone was lost last spring, but we just got around to requesting a new phone under the insurance. The response, from the insurer that Verizon outsources its insurance to, was that the claim had to be made within 60 days of annihilation, so no coverage.

Does anyone have experience with this situation? Seems totally irrational and unreasonable to me (why would an insurer interpose this restriction)?


Answer: That's wholly rational to me. Why wait this long to make a claim if the phone was lost last spring? THAT's what doesn't put out any sense. You have to look at it from their point of view. Since you waited so long, it looks like you are worrisome to scam them. I'm not saying that you are, I'm just saying that's how they are going to see it. If it were me, I would have made the claim right away.

Can I File An Insurance Claim On My Phone?

A angel of mine is on my t mobile account and she added insurance on her phone. Well today is the 20th day shes had service and already misplaced her phone. I have to call Asurion and communiqu the claim and Im wondering if there is a time frame you have to be with them before being able to report a claim. Does anyone know if claims can be made now?


Answer: There isn't a waiting days, but you do have to file the claim within 30 days of the phone being reported lost and you are allowed 2 claims a year.

Cell Phone Insurance Claim?

I have insurance on my chamber phone through cellone. Cellone was bought out from at&t but we still have our contract with cellone until they make us get a new contract. My phone penniless and it was a nokia 6126, so I made an insurance claim and they sent me a samsung x506 and that phone is junk compared to the other one and it doesn't have a lot of the same features. Is that the way it is presumed to be with an insurance claim?


Answer: Well, I second-hand to work for a cell phone company and in most cases they are supposed to send you the same type of phone that you had before but if the convention is different, then they will send you a phone that is "closest" to the one you had as far as features, memory and software. The "new" phone that they send in any event is never a brand new phone but rather one that someone else sent in, they fixed it and send it to you as a refurbished phone. Unfortunately you are stuck with it unless you settle on to buy a new phone yourself......Don't let them continue to give you the run around because trust me they wont do anything else about it and it will only cause you more frustrations...not worth your be that as it may!

What Happens If You File The Wrong Cell Phone On An Insurance Claim.?

I was filing a claim with Asurion and preferably of selecting the blackberry world, I selected tour and now the claim process will not let me go back and edit the claim on my room phone. Should I just let the claim process and recieve the tour instead?


Answer: they might story that as insurance fraud and you will not get any phone. i would contact them asap!

If I Make An Insurance Claim On A Cell Phone Can I Exchange It For A Different One?

last month i bought the pantech slate from at&t and it unfortunately bankrupt about a day ago if i make an insurance claim on the phone can i replace it with a different type of phone?


Answer: Stef,

Your insurance flock will allow you to replace your broken phone with a different one. However, if the replacement costs more than the original sales cost of the Slate then you have to pay the difference. I'm a Verizon Wireless customer and had an insurance claim last year and that's what they told me. Prospect this helps.

My Mobile Phone Insurance Claim Failed. Help?

Hi Guys,

I've straight received the following email from my phone insurance company regarding a claim I made last month : -

Dear Mr Forward

Thank you for your recent correspondence regarding your current claim
status.

I have now reviewed the details with value to the claim that you
submitted on 21st September 2008. However I am unable to accept this as an
appeal as you have not addressed all the worsening reason of your original
claim.

Your claim was unsuccessful due to the following reasons:

1. Incorrect Bar Dates
2. Negative cash flow death not reported to police

Once you have addressed all the reasons above, and we are in receipt of
the requested information we will perpetuate processing your appeal.

We will endeavour to process your claim as soon as possible.

I have since spoken to my phone insurance flock to find out about the incorrect bar dates. Basically my IMEI numbers did not match when my insurance company called my network provider but this is becuase this is my wink handset and they still have the details from my first phone so this is not a problem. My only problem is the second point. I was on holiday (America) when I puzzled my phone and I lost it overboard on a boat. I didnt call the police because I knew the phone would be damaged and irretraceable unless your a involved sea diver??

Can anybody help me with my appeal? Do I stand a good chance of friendly?

I have received an email from your claims branch. They have declined to pay for a replacement phone after mine was lost overboard on a boat trip in America.
The bar dates did not rivalry because my network provider gave you one from a previous phone.
The loss was not reported to the police because there was no malefactor involvement and, after falling into salt water, the phone would not have been repairable had it been found.
Your company's refusal to pay my claim is unperceiving, illegal and in breach of the terms and conditions of my contract. If I do not receive payment within 14 days, I will try enforcement through your regulator.

Anyone Made A Phone Insurance Claim Before? Did You Get A Good Phone Out Of It?

I equitable made a claim and I'm waiting to hear back from my insurance company about getting a new phone. I know I'm entitled to a phone that is in my liability cooker which is $1650. I figured I would ask for an iPhone- who wouldn't you know? But apparently they don't offer that. Do they only give you a roam of phones to choose from? I figured I could get what ever my telco offered at the time IF it was $1650 or under. I'm prevalent to fight to get an iPhone anyway, but I need to know if people have done this and what they've gotten out of it?

 
 

When Making A Claim On Phone Insurance. Do You Have To Give Old Phone Back?

i dropped my phone and the battery isnt charging well but it still can be used. i have been paying for insurance for 14 months so i decided to claim on it. i dont want to give this phone back yet because there is a lot of games, picts and videos i scarcity to keep and transfer. the women on phone didnt say anything about handing this bk, but the email said ive to give it to the driver on wed. any ideas how i can keep this phone


Answer: The insurance replaces the damaged phone.

So if you distinguish a claim - you have to give the old phone back and get the replacement one.

You don't get to keep the new phone and the old phone.

How Much Money Will I Get When I Claim My Phone Insurance?

i have recently had my phone stolen and have done all of the notifing network provider and constabulary, so how much do you think i will get from my insurance company?
