It's been over a month since i filed my claim, and they won't utter me if it's been approved when i phone, and they haven't mailed anything. Is it supposed to take so long? I was laid off.

in California, if u were really Laid Off, and the employer agrees that you were laid off, you should have no problems getting approved.

Can An Employer Check And Find Out If You Made Unemployment Insurance Claims?

i am wondering if any corporation that does a background check can find out if i filed a claim for unemployment insurance with my State. or is it kept confidential?

I would have in mind that they could, as this is not a confidential issue with your state. It would not make an employer hire or decide not to employ you based on this information though. I've not ever checked for that when we do background checks on someone.
